The 2026-2007 EGUSD Special Education Community Advisory Committee meeting dates are here!

The EGUSD Special Education Community Advisory Committee (also known as the CAC) brings families, staff, and community members together to connect, learn, share resources, and strengthen special education in EGUSD.

Our first meeting is Wednesday, September 23 from 6:00–7:30 PM. We’ll kick off the year with IEP 101 & Meet the EGUSD SPED Team.

IEP 101 is always a great presentation to attend, whether you’re a caregiver brand new to special education, a seasoned IEP pro looking for a refresher, or an educator who wants to better understand the process and be a stronger member of your students’ IEP teams. There’s always something new to learn and understanding the process helps all of us better support students.

There have also been a lot of changes to the EGUSD Special Education team this year, so this is a great opportunity to meet the people behind the programs! Come meet our new Executive Director, new Directors, Coordinators, and Program Specialists, learn more about their roles, and put some faces to the names.

⭐️ Childcare is provided during CAC meetings by EGUSD paraeducators.

The EGUSD Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is committed to ensuring the voices of families, students, educators, and community members help shape the work we do.

Email communication from Elk Grove Unified School District:

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) is partnering with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office to provide Active Shooter Training for officers and district leadership. This scenario-based training will take place at Elk Grove High School on Wednesday, June 24 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. EGUSD staff members have also been recruited to act as role players during the training exercises.

Please be advised that you or neighbors passing by Elk Grove High School on Wednesday, June 24 may notice a large number of law enforcement vehicles on the school campuses and may hear the sounds of sirens and mock gunfire at various times.

Both the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office (916) 874-5115 and EGUSD (916) 686-7786 dispatch centers will field calls that may come in regarding the training.
