🦸‍♀️ Calling all organizers, planners, and people-wranglers!

The Edna Batey PTA is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to help connect amazing volunteers with opportunities throughout the school year.

You’ll work with teachers, staff, and PTA leaders to recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers who help make Batey events and programs successful.

No cape required—but it might help. 😉

The Edna Batey PTA is proud to recognize Chad Rede, our incredible Vice Principal, as May’s Member of the Month! Mr. Rede consistently goes above and beyond to support our students, staff, and families with positivity, dedication, and heart. From coordinating school events and assemblies to jumping in wherever help is needed, his leadership helps make Edna Batey a fun, welcoming, and successful school community.

Students especially loved his willingness to be taped to the wall as part of celebrating our Bolt fundraising goals — a perfect example of the enthusiasm and school spirit he brings to campus every day! Thank you, Mr. Rede, for your dedication, positivity, and commitment to our Bobcats. We truly appreciate all that you do!

Of course we couldn’t not have done the 6the grade dance without our 6th grade committee of dedicated 6th grade parents and PTA volunteers. It was a true team effort to put this event on and we wouldn’t be able to do this without all the generous donations and time spent preparing for this event. Our 6th grade dance was held yesterday evening. There was dancing, limbo, K Pop performance, dance contest, raffle, Kona Ice, Photo Booth, ice cream bar, photo slide show and so much more! It was an under the sea theme full of amazing decorations! We hope our 6th grade students and their parents had a great time and made some amazing memories at the dance as well as throughout their years at Batey. Go Bobcats

April PTA Member of the Month: Genevieve, Ally, and Becky

This month, PTA is proud to recognize the amazing Edna Batey Front Office Staff as our PTA Members of the Month! Working tirelessly behind the scenes, they are the heartbeat of our school—keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently each and every day.

They are often the first friendly face families see and the steady support staff rely on, answering a constant stream of questions with patience and care.

What many may not know is the countless behind-the-scenes responsibilities they juggle: maintaining student records, supporting enrollment and transfers, coordinating with district offices, managing health and emergency information, organizing schedules, troubleshooting daily challenges, and ensuring clear communication among teachers, families, and the administration. They help keep everything on track—even when the day throws the unexpected their way.

They are the unsung heroes of our school, and today, we are proudly singing their praises. Thank you for your dedication, your care, and the countless ways you support our students, staff, and families. Edna Batey is better because of you!

March Member of the Month: Sabir Karim

Sabir was nominated by Erica Eastham of the PTA. Sabir is the school’s incredible lead custodian, and truly one of the behind-the-scenes heroes who helps make so many of our school events possible.

Sabir shows unwavering commitment to supporting both the school and the PTA. No matter the event, he is always ready to lend a hand with a positive attitude. From setting up the dunk tank for the Bobcat Bash to preparing spaces for school promotions and countless other events throughout the year, Sabir consistently goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly.

His reliability, teamwork, and dedication make a huge difference for our students, staff, and families. Sabir’s support allows PTA volunteers and school staff to focus on creating meaningful experiences for our community, knowing that the logistics are in capable hands.

We are incredibly grateful for Sabir’s hard work, generosity, and constant support of Edna Batey. Our events simply wouldn’t be the same without him. Thank you, Sabir, for everything you do for our school community!
