Living and Giving Garden of Elk Grove Village Volunteer-run organic food pantry garden in Elk Grove Village, IL to educate and feed the community.

The Living and Giving Community Garden of Elk Grove Village is a partnership between the Living Green Community Garden Project and the Prince of Peace United Methodist Church. Our goal is to grow organic produce for our local food pantries, grow a stronger community, and provide education on both green and sustainable principles to create a more thoughtful existence within our village and beyond.

Great weather for working in the garden this morning. The volunteers were busy watering, tying up plants, putting up a few more panels... We had a good time and as always got the work done. Things are looking great.

Such a nice day to work at the garden. Another great group of volunteers working away. With everything planted, its weeding, watering, tying up plants... There is always something that needs to be done. It will be nice when we get to start harvesting.

Things are still growing well at the garden. Yes, it was great weather this morning. The volunteers continued the watering, weeding, and doing anything else the plants need as this point. Things were done early today. Can't wait until we can start harvesting.

No water needed... We didn't need to water at the garden as it did rain. It was hot and humid day. We did weeding, pruning tomatoes, covered the pear trees. Another busy day for the volunteers at the garden.

Things are still growing at the garden. It was a humid morning, but who's complaining. Not the volunteers who keep working to make sure the garden is a success. More weeding, pruning tomato plants, covering the pear trees.

Just a quick video of the volunteers at the garden...who worked in the garden today. They covered the tasks of weeding and watering. The rest of us were planting two Honey Berry bushes. A big thank you to Yu-Tai Kao for donating them.

We got the plants in the ground today at the garden. Nice weather for the day. It was another great day and the volunteers were wonderful. Soon there will be produce-a-plenty. Can't wait. Starting next week, we will be at the garden twice a week.
