Elk City Emergency Services Day: Leadership Elk City Class XII spent June 10, 2026, exploring the people, facilities, and services that help keep our community running every day. We also had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Casey Merrifield, who shared valuable leadership insights and perspectives.

Throughout the day, Class XII and steering committee members toured several important city operations, including:

✅ Elk City Police Department
✅ Elk City Fire Department
✅ Elk City Municipal Airport
✅ Animal Control Facility
✅ Gun Range
✅ Elk City Hall Offices

From public safety and emergency response to city administration and infrastructure, the experience provided a greater appreciation for the dedication and teamwork required to serve our community.

Thank you to all of the city employees, first responders, and community leaders who welcomed us and shared their time, expertise, and passion for Elk City. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from you.

Legislative Day: On May 5–6, Leadership Elk City Class XII participated in Legislative Day at the Oklahoma State Capitol. During the visit, class members toured the Capitol and had the opportunity to observe both House and Senate Floor Sessions. They also met with several Oklahoma government officials, including Governor Kevin Stitt, State Treasurer Todd Russ, Senator Brent Howard, and Representative Nick Archer, among others. Thank you to all who took the time to meet with the class and share their insight and experiences!

Elk City Infrastructure Day – Part 1: On April 15, Leadership Elk City Class XII participants strengthened their leadership voice with expert coaching, while also exploring key infrastructure sites across the community. The class heard from current and former city leaders about the essential services that ensure a reliable water supply and contribute to Elk City’s quality of life. Their day included tours of the Water Collection Plant, Water Treatment Plant, City Landfill, and the Arrowhead Center.
