Exciting news out of Social On Main... Welcome StrEAT Kitchen to the community!

A new eatery is set to open inside Social on Main food hall in downtown Elizabethtown, featuring reimagined takes on street food classics. StrEAT will host its grand opening Tuesday, September 9.

The menu will feature staple favorites such as smash burgers and hot dogs in both traditional styles such as Coney Island, Chicago, Carolina and New York, along with inventive versions like the Kimchi Dog featuring Korean kimchi, Mexican chorizo and chicharrones; a Vietnamese-inspired Bánh Mì Dog; and the Sonoran Dog, a hot dog piled high with bacon, mayonnaise, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, jalapenos and hot sauce. Later menus will also include gourmet grilled cheeses and chopped cheese sandwiches.

Sides will include French fries and tater tots loaded with toppings such as kimchi, chili cheese, and other rotating creations. A self-serve condiment bar will offer flavored ketchups, aiolis and specialty mustards.

Beyond its staples, StrEAT Kitchen will introduce rotating international street food specials, keeping the menu fresh and globally inspired. Beverage options will include fresh-brewed teas, house-made Hawaiian punch, fresh limeades and seasonal fresh juices inspired by international flavors.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Kirt Jones and Cecille Domingo-Jones, co-owners of Maillard Wood Fired Kitchen, also located inside Social on Main.

“We want to bring that same commitment to classic street food people know and love, while also introducing flavors you can’t find anywhere else in the local dining scene,” Kirt said. “Our goal is to offer something for everyone, whether you’re craving a refined take on a familiar favorite or eager to explore bold new tastes.”

Nearly everything on StrEAT Kitchen’s menu will be made from scratch, with a focus on using Kentucky Proud products whenever possible. Building on the success of Maillard, the first fast-casual restaurant in Elizabethtown to earn the Kentucky Proud Buy Local distinction, Cecille said StrEAT Kitchen will follow the same philosophy when sourcing ingredients.

“We take pride in sourcing our ingredients from farmers and butchers right here in Kentucky,” she said. “That commitment reflects our philosophy, ensuring every dish is the best it can be, from preparation to presentation. We’re excited to continue sharing our passion for exceptional culinary experiences through this new eatery.”

In addition to featuring a variety of food stalls, Social on Main also features self-pour beer, wine and cocktail taps, duck pin bowling, an upstairs venue space and more. Social on Main is located at 110 South Main Street in Elizabethtown and is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (with food from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. To learn more, visit socialonmainky.com.
