We have partnered with Helping Hand of Hope to establish and promote an initiative called Pathway Home.

This initiative will provide funding to help transient individuals stranded in Elizabethtown return safely to their city of origin. If commercial transportation is not available on the day a candidate is identified, funding from this program will also provide an overnight hotel stay, as well as basic nutrition items. Transportation to the commercial terminal on the scheduled day of travel will be provided by law enforcement.

Donations can be made by dropping off a check at the Elizabethtown Police Department, located at 300 South Mulberry St., or by mailing it to PO Box 642, Elizabethtown, KY 42702. Please make checks payable to Helping Hand of Hope with “Pathway Home” in the memo line. This is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Kentucky households can apply for LIHEAP Spring Subsidy from April 20 to May 22, 2026, to help offset cooling costs as the temperatures rise.

Eligible households with income up to 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may qualify for assistance with their electric bills. This program provides a one-time electric benefit, paid directly to the household’s electric vendor. No disconnect notice, past-due bill, or eviction notice is required to apply.

Assistance received during previous LIHEAP components does not affect eligibility. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, or until funds are depleted.
