Non-profit dedicated to saving the lives of companion animals to decrease the euthanasia rate of high kill shelters by educating communities on spay&neuter, bringing awareness to animal cruelty, & raising money for basic medical needs We are a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of companion animals to decrease the euthanasia rate of high kill shelters by educating communities on spay & neuter, bringing awareness to animal cruelty, & raising money for basic medical needs for the animals we help. We are not a regular adoption organization rescue, we do not take in dogs to adopt out. We are more of a half-way home rescue, and pull dogs from local kill shelters to get them vetted and ready for their next step rescue where they will find an adoptive family. At times when we can we will help out owner surrenders to keep them out of the shelters as well. In the past we partnered with a southern kill shelter in a rural county area, but due to staff changes we are no longer able to help there. Some dogs would come in way more sick/injured then we could help, or they had some very serious behavior issues that couldn't be modified (or there’s no partner rescues who would be willing to step up to help). We would never take a chance with anyone’s safety (human or animal) and lie to get the dog out either, so we couldn't save everyone but we tried. We raised/collected pledges for partner rescues who pulled dogs through us, and donated the funds to the rescues once the dog leaves the shelter subtracting any fees we incurred. At times when we had a foster to take in a dog until a rescue was found we were happy since we could make more room at the shelter, since the shelter didn’t have an actual foster program. Sadly now that shelter's euthanasia rate will get higher since we are no longer able to help. Most of our partners wanted proper behavior assessments, which none of the staff at the shelter have the director of this organization's skill set or background in dog training. We were able to get out dogs that were seen by shelter staff to be aggressive or feral, since we knew what the actions truly that the dogs were showing usually due to fear. We are very honest, and transparent in everything we do. If you have any questions about ANYTHING please send us a message. We are always happy to answer, just give us time since we aren’t always available. We are all volunteers and do not get paid for anything we do for these dogs. You can check out our website for more information, and to find a foster form if you’re interested. www.theunforgottensouls.com

🐾❤️ SO CLOSE TO RESCUE — PLEASE DON’T LET ERIN AND BOSTON GET LEFT BEHIND! ❤️🐾

We are getting so close, but we still need help getting Erin and Boston the pledges they need to secure their rescue!

🐶 BOSTON IS ONLY $60 SHORT!

🐶 ERIN STILL NEEDS $400!

Both of these sweet pups are lucky enough to have rescue interest, and we desperately want to see them walk out of the shelter and into the care of their rescues. But the reality is that rescues cannot take these dogs without the funds to cover their expenses.

We have shared them over and over, and so many wonderful people have already stepped up to help. We are incredibly grateful, but we aren’t quite there yet.

Boston only needs $60! Surely we can get this sweet boy across the finish line. And Erin needs us to keep pushing for her, too. She deserves the same chance to get out of that shelter and start a new life.

Could you spare $5, $10, or $20? Every single pledge gets them closer. If you’ve already pledged, thank you! If you can add a little more or share their posts again, it would mean so much.

❤️ They have rescue interest. They have people fighting for them. Now we just need the funds to get them out!

Please don’t stop sharing Erin and Boston. We are so close, and we don’t want either of them to lose this opportunity.

🐾 Boston needs $60. Erin needs $400. Let’s get these babies rescued! ❤️

🐾❤️ BOSTON & ERIN HAVE RESCUES WAITING FOR THEM… PLEASE DON’T LET MONEY BE THE REASON THEY CAN’T LEAVE! ❤️🐾

We have some good news for Boston and Erin, but we still need your help to make it happen!

Both of these sweet pups have been lucky enough to get rescue interest! Anyone who follows our shelter dogs knows just how hard it is to find rescues willing to take them. So when we finally have someone willing to give them a chance, we want to do everything possible to get them out!

❤️ BOSTON IS ONLY $110 SHORT!
❤️ ERIN IS STILL $550 SHORT!

Boston is a sweet 2-year-old boy who weighs around 45 pounds and is great with other dogs. He’s been waiting far too long for his chance.

Erin is a beautiful 2-year-old girl, around 50 pounds, who is sweet, happy, and dog friendly. She deserves the same chance to leave the shelter and find a family of her own.

Here’s the part we really need everyone to understand. Rescues cannot keep pulling dogs without the funds to care for them. Vetting, transportation, boarding, food, and other expenses add up quickly. They want to help Boston and Erin, but they need financial support to make it possible.

It would be heartbreaking to have rescues interested in these two and not be able to get them out because we couldn’t raise the remaining pledges. 😢

We need $660 TOTAL to get BOTH pups to their pledge goals!

Can anyone spare $5, $10, $20, or even add a little to a pledge you’ve already made? It all adds up, and every bit helps!

Please, if you’ve been following Boston or Erin and hoping someone would save them, THIS is your chance to be part of making that happen.

They have rescue interest. They have people fighting for them. Now they just need the funds to get out of the shelter and start their next chapter.

🙏 PLEASE PLEDGE AND SHARE! Let’s not lose these rescue opportunities over $110 for Boston and $550 for Erin.

10/19/26 Update Still Short $263 in Pledges for Pip

🐾❤️ PLEASE DON’T FORGET ABOUT PIP! SHE STILL NEEDS OUR HELP! ❤️🐾

Sweet Pip is so close to getting out of the shelter, but she’s still $500 SHORT IN PLEDGES! 😢

This little girl is only around 25 lbs, fully grown, and lucky enough to have a rescue interested in giving her a chance. But we still need to raise the funds to help make that rescue happen.

We’ve shared Pip before, and we’re asking everyone to please keep sharing her. We don’t want her to lose this opportunity because we couldn’t raise the last $500.

If you’ve already pledged, thank you! ❤️ If you’re able to add a little more, or if you haven’t pledged yet and can spare $5, $10, or $20, it would mean so much.

Pip has rescue interest. She has people fighting for her. Now we just need to get her the financial support to help get her out of the shelter and on her way to a better life.

🙏 PLEASE KEEP SHARING PIP! Someone out there may be able to help us close this $500 gap. Every pledge and every share matters!

🐾💕 PIP IS SO CLOSE TO GETTING OUT OF THE SHELTER! SHE JUST NEEDS OUR HELP! 💕🐾

Pip is one of the lucky ones who has caught the attention of a rescue! That is HUGE because so many dogs never get that opportunity. But there’s one thing standing between Pip and her chance to leave the shelter… she is still $600 SHORT in pledges! 😢

Pip is a full-grown little girl weighing only about 25 pounds. She’s just sitting at the shelter waiting for her chance, and we would hate to see her lose this rescue opportunity because we couldn’t raise the funds needed to get her out.

Rescues have expenses, and they depend on pledges to help cover the costs of saving these dogs. Pip has someone willing to give her a chance. Now we just need to help make it happen!

Can we please come together and find that last $600 for Pip? Whether it’s $5, $10, $20, or adding a little more to an existing pledge, every single dollar gets her closer to leaving the shelter.

🎉🐾❤️ MEMPHIS HAS BEEN RESCUED!!! ❤️🐾🎉

This is the kind of happy ending that makes all the hard work worth it!! ❤️

Our sweet boy Memphis has been RESCUED, and we couldn’t be happier for him! 🐶💕

Not long ago, Memphis was sitting in a shelter, facing an uncertain future. He was on the euthanasia list, and we were desperately trying to find a way to save him. Then a rescue stepped up, and our wonderful supporters came together to help raise the funds needed to get him out!

AND LOOK WHAT WE DID TOGETHER!! MEMPHIS IS SAFE!! 🎉❤️

We want to give a HUGE thank you to the amazing rescue that said YES to Memphis and gave him the chance he so desperately needed. We know rescues are overwhelmed, and taking in another dog is a big commitment. We are so grateful you made room for this sweet boy!

And to every single person who pledged, donated, shared his posts, tagged a rescue, or helped spread the word — THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS! ❤️

You may never meet Memphis, but YOU helped change his life. Every pledge, every share, and every person who cared helped make this possible.

There are so many days when rescue work is heartbreaking, but days like today remind us why we keep going. We couldn’t do this without the incredible people who stand behind these shelter dogs and refuse to give up on them.

From all of the volunteers at The Unforgotten Souls, THANK YOU for helping us give Memphis his second chance! 🐾❤️

Now go enjoy that new beginning, Memphis! You’ve got a whole lot of people cheering you on!! 🥹❤️🐶

One more life saved because people cared enough to help. ❤️

🚨💔 EIGHT DOGS. EIGHT LIVES AT RISK. THEY NEED US NOW. 💔🚨

Meet the eight beautiful souls at Bladen County Animal Shelter who need rescue commitments, adopters, and pledges urgently. Every one of them deserves a chance at life. Please take a moment to meet them. ❤️🐾

🐾 BONO | Approximately 3 years old, 40 lbs
A very sweet boy who has been waiting far too long. He arrived very bloated, which improved after deworming, and he does well with other dogs. Bono needs someone to step up for him.

🐾 CODY | Young boy
New to the shelter and already facing an uncertain future. Cody needs someone to give him a chance at the forever home he deserves. His time is extremely limited.

🐾 MARSHALL | 1-year-old Shepherd mix
Just look at those ears and that adorable head tilt! Marshall came in underweight but is full of love. This friendly boy deserves the chance to grow up in a home surrounded by love.

🐾 MEATHEAD | 2 years old, 55 lbs
Don’t let his name fool you! This handsome boy has an adorable squishy face and is great with other dogs. He needs someone to fall in love with him and give him a home of his own.

🐾 ALLE | Approximately 5 years old, 45 lbs
A sweet Bulldog mix who does well with other dogs. Although she has some significant dental issues, she deserves a chance to be someone’s beloved companion after having multiple litters over the years.

🐾 TARAH | Approximately 4 years old, 65 lbs
A laid-back, sweet Shepherd/Great Dane mix who came into the shelter with another dog named Strawberry and has done well with other dogs. Tarah deserves a safe place to land and a family to love her.

🐾 DULCE | 1-year-old girl
A happy, friendly sweetheart who loves people and other dogs! Dulce has so much love to give and deserves the chance to find her forever family.

🐾 DREA | 3 years old, approximately 55 lbs
Her owner left her behind when they moved, and now this girl is trying to make sense of a world turned upside down. Drea does well with people but appears scared of other dogs right now. She needs patience, understanding, and a safe place to decompress.

💔 ALL EIGHT ARE ON THE EUTHANASIA LIST. THEY NEED HELP FAST.

🙏 PLEASE SHARE. Your share could reach the person who can save a life.
🙏 PLEASE PLEDGE. Pledges can help attract a rescue commitment.
🙏 PLEASE TAG RESCUES. Help get these dogs seen before it’s too late.
🙏 PLEASE CONSIDER ADOPTION. You could be someone’s second chance.

💔🐾 MEMPHIS & JOHNNY HAVE A RESCUE WILLING TO SAVE THEM… BUT WE ARE STILL $850 SHORT! 🐾💔

This is the part of rescue that is so frustrating and heartbreaking. We work so hard to find rescues willing to take these dogs, and when we finally find one, we have to turn around and beg for the money to make it happen. 😢

Memphis and Johnny have something so many shelter dogs never get — a rescue willing to give them a chance! But we are still $850 short between the two boys, and without those funds, their rescue cannot move forward.

Memphis is a sweet, dog-friendly boy who has been waiting for someone to give him a chance. ❤️

And Johnny is just a 10-month-old baby! He’s a big boy, super smart, and has his whole life ahead of him. He should be learning, playing, and enjoying life instead of sitting in a shelter waiting for someone to help him.

We know everyone is stretched thin. We know we ask for pledges constantly, and we wish we didn’t have to. But these dogs have no way of helping themselves, and rescues simply cannot continue taking dogs without the funds to cover their care.

We are not asking one person to come up with $850. We are asking a whole lot of people to help with a little.

🐾 10 people pledging $10 is $100 closer.

🐾 20 people pledging $20 is $400 closer.

🐾 And if you have already pledged, would you consider adding just a little more?

Every single dollar gets these boys closer to leaving the shelter.

PLEASE don’t let $850 be what keeps Memphis and Johnny from getting rescued. Finding a rescue is often the hardest part, and THEY HAVE ONE! We just need enough people to come together and help cover the expenses.

If you can’t pledge, please share this post. Share it with your friends, your family, anyone who might be willing to help. We need to reach people who haven’t seen these boys yet.

💔🐾 IVANKA & GEORGIA ARE SO CLOSE TO BEING RESCUED… BUT WE STILL NEED $1,400! 🐾💔

We are asking for your help once again for these two precious girls. ❤️

Ivanka and Georgia have a chance to get out of the shelter and into rescue, but we are still $1,400 SHORT between the two of them to make that happen! 😢

We know we ask for pledges every day, and we know so many of you have already given to help these shelter dogs. We truly appreciate every single person who continues to support them. But we just can’t give up on these girls when they are this close to having a chance at a better life.

Rescues cannot pull dogs without the financial support to cover their expenses. Transport, veterinary care, boarding, and other necessities add up quickly. Even when a rescue wants to help, they have to know the funds are there to care for the dogs.

❤️ If you have already pledged for Ivanka or Georgia, would you consider adding a little more to your pledge?

❤️ If you haven’t pledged yet, could you spare $5, $10, $20, or whatever you can afford?

We aren’t asking any one person to come up with $1,400. We are asking everyone who sees this post to help us chip away at that amount so BOTH girls can get rescued.

It is heartbreaking to know that money is the one thing standing between these girls and their chance to leave the shelter. They don’t understand any of this. They just need someone to give them that chance. 💔

PLEASE don’t scroll past Ivanka and Georgia. If you can’t pledge, please share their faces. Maybe someone on your friends list can help us get them the rest of the way.

💔🐾 MOZZA IS SCARED, AND HE REALLY NEEDS SOMEONE IN HIS CORNER! 🐾💔

Just look at this sweet boy’s face. 😢 Mozza is only 1 year old, and instead of enjoying life and being someone’s best buddy, he’s sitting in a shelter trying to figure out what’s going on around him.

Mozza is a handsome Lab mix who is a nervous little guy. He’s still learning how to interact with other dogs because, quite honestly, he’s scared. He doesn’t understand everything that’s happening around him, and he needs someone willing to give him a little patience and a chance. ❤️

The heartbreaking part is that dogs like Mozza are so easily overlooked. The happy, outgoing dogs get attention, while the scared ones sometimes sit and wait. Mozza deserves just as much of a chance as any other dog!

🙏 WE REALLY NEED PLEDGES FOR MOZZA! 🙏

Pledges can make a huge difference in getting a rescue to step up for him. Right now, we need people willing to help give this boy a fighting chance.

❤️ Can you pledge $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can spare? Every little bit helps, and even if you can’t pledge, PLEASE share Mozza so the right person or rescue might see him!
