"At Etown, I’m turning my interest in global business into meaningful experiences that prepare me for the professional world. Through internship opportunities and networking with industry professionals, I’ve been able to connect what I’m learning in the classroom to the real world. Outside the classroom, serving as a Blue Jay Ambassador has helped me build strong communication skills, meaningful friendships, and connections with prospective students and families. Combined with the mentorship and support I receive from my professors, these experiences are giving me the confidence, connections, and global perspective to pursue a master’s degree abroad or a career in supply chain management." - Vanessa Chávez Gallegos '28, International Business major, Data Analytics minor

Through a mastery-based approach to learning, supportive faculty, and strong relationships with industry partners, the Engineering program has risen more than 40 spots in the U.S. News and World Report ranking since 2023, climbing to No. 44 nationally (tie) and tied for fourth among engineering programs in Pennsylvania.

A recent in-depth article from LNP Media Group explores how Etown’s real-world approach to engineering is earning national recognition while preparing students to succeed in the workforce. As Dean of the School of Engineering and Computer Science, Sara Atwood explains, fostering a supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and overcome challenges is central to that mission.

“We’re definitely a supportive culture, trying to say, ‘Hey, anyone who wants to be an engineer, we need more engineers in the workforce. Come give that a try at Etown’,” Atwood said. “(Engineering) is about solving problems. It’s about being able to persist through failure because engineers are going to have a lot of failure and iteration.”
