A Little Laughter, a Little Warmth, and a Whole Lot of
KY Colonel Caring

In the Central Kentucky Chapter, we take service seriously — but we never take ourselves too seriously. That’s why when President Thompsett, who also moonlights as a clown with the Shriners (and a part‑time menace to good order and dignity), decided to have a little fun with our brother Jerry, nobody was surprised. Concerned? Maybe. Amused? Absolutely.

Jerry showed up expecting a normal day. Instead, he was greeted by Thompsett — red nose, big grin, and enough mischief in his eyes to qualify as a weather alert — presenting him with a “just‑because” gift bucket.

Inside?
A blanket and other care items.
Not just any blanket — the kind that says, “We noticed it’s been cold, and we’re not letting you freeze like an abandoned lawn chair.”

Because that’s who we are.
We look after our community, yes — but we also look after each other. Even if it means letting a Shriner clown deliver the care package.

Jerry got a laugh. Thompsett got to be… well, Thompsett. And the Chapter got another reminder that fellowship isn’t just meetings and minutes — it’s warmth, humor, and showing up for one another in small, meaningful ways.

Even if it comes wrapped in a blanket and delivered by a clown.
