Lancaster County Animal Coalition

Lancaster County Animal Coalition Our mission: Building a better community through compassion to animals. A safe, transparent, animal shelter is the missing link in Lancaster County.

Lax laws pertaining to animal abuse and neglect continue to protect animal abusers. Inconsistent practices by Humane Officers allow puppy mills and backyards breeders the ability to contribute to the overpopulation of animals. Discrimination towards breeds and allowing open access shelters to operate in an uneducated fashion has led to high levels of euthanasia. This must end now. Only July 4, 201

6 as we were celebrating our country’s independence a puppy now named Libre gained the attention of the nation. His story sparked outrage in our community. As we watched the injustices unfold we also found a community filled with animal lovers begging for change. The Lancaster County Animal Coalition was formed as a call to action for change. A group of reputable rescue groups and animal welfare organizations joined forces to form the response to the county’s outrage. Our goal is build a better community through compassion to animals. A capital campaign was launched and plans for a new shelter emerged. A shelter equipped with a licensed cruelty officer, a shelter that offers transparency within the community, a shelter teamed with veterinarian professionals to ensure proper medical care is given, a shelter that will work with strong rescue partnerships to ensure each animal is given the chance. We need your help to make this happen. Our hope is to provide a more compassionate today, and brighter tomorrow, for the animals of Lancaster County.
