Happy Mother’s Day from Milandila 💛

Every day let us honor the heroic women of Uganda who choose life in the face of hardship and persevere daily to nurture, protect, and provide for their children under some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable.

Many of the mothers we serve walk miles for medical care, sleep hungry so their children can eat, battle illness, raise children alone, and still open their hands to others in need. Their strength is humbling. Their sacrifice reflects the heart of Christ.

Recently, during a home visit to check on the physical and resource readiness of an HIV-positive teenage mother, we met the woman who had taken her in after both her own mother and the father of her baby abandoned her.

In her own humble circumstances, with only a potato crop and a one-room house, we asked why she chose to care for this sick, pregnant girl.

Her answer moved us deeply:

“I am a mother. As God is a life-giver, He has blessed me to bring life too. That makes me a mother to all, not just those who came from my womb.

Also, I am born again. It was explained to me that through Jesus and not my own goodness, my sins have been forgiven. I am a new creature and now am tasked with passing that same kind of undeserved love and mercy to others.

As I have been given grace, I extend that grace to others in Jesus’ Name. I don’t have much to offer her, but I have a place for her to lay and some potatoes for her to eat. If she wants them, she is most welcome.”

This is the kind of love that changes lives.

This Mother’s Day, we invite you to celebrate the sacrifice and selflessness of mothers by giving to Milandila’s “Where Needed Most” Fund. These gifts allow us to respond to urgent needs immediately and ensure that no woman who comes for help is ever turned away.

Your support helps provide:
• Medical care for mothers and babies
• Safe deliveries and prenatal support
• Discipleship and counseling
• Livelihood and sustainability programs
• Hope rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ

May we all honor mothers not only with words, but through action, compassion, and generosity.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Milandila 🌿 https://www.milandila.org/

Hearing About Grace for the First Time!

We recently visited Harriet’s home to check on her and her 8-day-old baby girl. Our doctor provided a wellness check for both mother and child, while our clinicians made sure Harriet had everything she needed to care for her newborn. 💛

Afterward, our team sat down with her to talk about spiritual matters.

Harriet shared her beliefs confidently: “We all serve the same God,” she said, explaining how she tried to live a good life to earn right-standing with Him.

When we shared the Good News, that salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not earned by works, she paused and said,
“I have never heard this teaching before.”

Then she asked a life-changing question:
“What must I do to be saved?”

Just as we began to explain, her mother-in-law joined us. We weren’t sure how she might respond—but instead, she said,
“I must consider these things too. This teaching about grace is certainly Good News!”

Holding her newborn close, Harriet shared her desire for this new life found only in Jesus. With a humble heart, she prayed:

“Lord, I know I am a sinner and cannot save myself. I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again. Today I place my trust in Him alone. Please forgive me, come into my life, and make me new. Amen.”

What a powerful moment, and one that has eternal impact. 🙏

Thank you for your prayers and generosity, which make stories like this possible. If you feel led to be part of this mission, we invite you to give and support the work God is doing through Milandila by going to milandila.org and choosing Family Center at the drop-down. Your support helps us continue reaching families with both compassionate care and the hope of the Gospel!

🌱 Milandila’s First Demonstration Farm is thriving! 🌱

Our zucchinis are ripe and ready in Uganda! 🥒 Good nutrition is vital for pregnant and lactating mamas, and this farm is already making a difference.

Through this initiative, Milandila is helping women learn to grow nutrient-rich foods, not only to nourish their families, but also to produce extra that can be traded or sold.

Looking ahead, a future coffee shop venture will use a farm-to-table approach, creating a reliable market for this produce and providing women with a guaranteed wage for their harvests.

Please join us in prayer for healthy crops, strong communities, and a harvest of righteousness as relationships grow and more villagers are reached with the love of Jesus. 🙏

If you'd like to be part of what God is doing in Milandila, we invite you to give and support this work! Your generosity helps provide seeds, training, and ongoing resources that make projects like this possible. If you feel called to donate, you can choose "Family Center" at the drop-down to give at milandila.org.

We’re so excited to share that Milandila’s Women’s & Babies’ Hospital in Uganda is finally opening! 🎉
After a long delay at the Kenyan border during election closures, the much-needed equipment has arrived, and if you look closely, you’ll even spot the official sign now in place! Already, local mothers in need of care are gathering with hope and anticipation. 💚
This month, we’ll begin with a soft opening, taking time to set up and test equipment while offering our first services to mamas from our Family Center. Then in May, we’ll celebrate a Grand Opening with local leaders, churches, and government officials as we officially open our doors to the community!
Please keep this new beginning in your prayers: for a smooth launch, for the staff, and for every mother and baby who will be served here. 🙏
Thank you to everyone whose prayers and generosity made this dream a reality. If you didn’t get a chance to give but would still like to be part of Milandila’s mission, there’s still so much to be done. You can support ongoing projects and help cover hospital operating costs at milandila.org. by choosing Family Center at the drop-down!🌍
