Wild Abundance Beginner Woodworking Class for Adults

There’s something good about learning to work with your hands. Just outside Asheville, Wild Abundance is holding a Beginner Woodworking workshop November 5 through 8, four days of sawdust, sore hands in a good way, and a real skill to bring home when it’s over.

No experience needed, just curiosity. Whether you’ve been meaning to learn for years or you just like the idea of building something real with your own two hands, this is the kind of thing worth carving out a weekend for.

We’re always glad to see our neighbors picking up new skills, in the shop or on the job site. If you end up going, we’d love to hear how it turns out.

We came across something worth sharing. The Center for Disaster Philanthropy runs a Disaster Preparedness Fund that’s already put $470,000 toward organizations doing community informed, locally led preparedness work, the kind of work that sits right at the heart of what we call Resilience.

If you’re part of a nonprofit or community group in our region doing this work, or thinking about starting, this fund is worth a look. We’d encourage you to reach out and ask about current opportunities, you might be a fit for support you didn’t know existed.
