River's Edge Quilt Ministry Rivers Edge Quilt Ministry is still here. We have had some activity over the past few months and I am so sorry that I have not shared it with you. We have had beautiful quilts, including crocheted items arrive from several areas. I will either include names and pics in this post, or one soon after. Approximately 30 quilts went to Johnson County/Mountain City, TN Long Term Recovery Center. Each county now has a long term recovery center. When flood victims get more permanent housing than campers or tents, they are able to get supplies from these county EMA centers. While in temporary housing, few have any place to store items.
Special thanks to those that continue to follow and especially support this ministry. If i have already posted any of these, you get to see them again. If I missed someone, post and tag yourself.
My fil had been dealing with steadily failing health. We lost him at the end of February, but due to family being out of the country, we were unable to have his Memorial Service until this past Saturday. My mil has relied on me for alot. During this same time, I have been diagnosed and dealing with lymphedema, including therapy. I thought that was the complete answer to my walking difficulties. I finally went to my orthopedic dr this week. Xrays not only showed I have advanced osteoarthritis in my rt hip, but my left hip, which was replaced yrs ago has shifted and hardware is loose. No wonder I can't balance or walk straight 😆. Because of this, I am undergoing several different tests, etc over next few weeks, possibly new hip replacement. I appreciate all the prayers, but please know we are still helping many through our ministry.
There are very few babies currently in the Helene victims, so last month we sent 35 baby/toddler quilts to Niswonger Children's Hospital. So many children are also blessed by our ministry. I will keep this quilt ministry going for any needs that arise. As soon as I can, I will send more to the Embreeville/Bumpass Cove Community. Appalachia Service Project has just completed about 6 more homes in that area. This rebuild of our area will take years. Bless you and thank you. Again, I apologize for my absence from posting on our fb pg.

I am posting pics of some quilts and people who have blessed us from late November through February. Tag yourself if you want. 🥰
Ruby from San Antonio, Ruth from MI, Bonnie from FL, Debi H and Missi from SC, Robin N of TN and Makenna from NJ. Makenna's sweet students wrote letters and they were included. Debi Hart made beautiful hearts with scripture attached and that beautiful label you see from Ginger C shows you that this is quilt #355 that she has made in memory of her grandson Brayden. Sew special.
