Happy Valley Golf alum Cayden Anderson finished fifth at the 2026 United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship USCAA that wrapped up Tuesday.

Anderson, a sophomore at Alice Lloyd College, posted back to back rounds of 91 at the event. She played at the Arnold Palmer designed Plantation Course at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA.

The scores of 91 are tied for her third lowest of the season. The two-day total of 182 ties her collegiate best and best two-round total for this season.

Anderson used a birdie on the par-3 14th to post a 41 on the back nine Monday.

Tuesday she started five-over her opening nine holes. That was seven strokes better than Monday. Included in that was a birdie on the par-5 second hole en route to a 41 overall on the front nine.

Overall she had a birdie in each round and a total of 13 pars in the 36-hole event.

The fall slate for Anderson and her AliceLloyd_Golf teammates will wrap up October 26-27 at the Eagle Invitational in Cohutta, GA. The participants will play at the Nob North Course. The Alice Lloyd men’s team finished as runner-up in the team standings.

Congratulations to Happy Valley Golf alum Cayden Anderson Cayden Anderson who has qualified for the 2026 United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship.

The event will be contested at the Kingsmill Resort Plantation Course in Williamsburg, VA. The event will be October 11-13.

Anderson, a sophomore at Alice Lloyd College AliceLloyd_Golf, knows her playing companions for the opening round. She is paired with Penn State University Shenango’s Faith Sullivan, Irelyn Lathan from Southern Maine and Kenzie Blevins a member of the Kent State University Tuscarawas program. The four will start on the 18th hole Monday.

The last time Anderson was on the course was for the Golf Capital of Tennessee Invitational in Crossville September 21-22. She finished ninth at the 54-hole event. Anderson had a college career-best 83 score in her second round Monday.

Good luck to the participants in the TSSAA State Championship this week that started their season at the 1913 Invitational.

Once again the field from July helped start numerous golfers start their route to Sevierville.

The teams that qualified included the Greeneville boys and girls, Science Hill boys, Dobyns Bennett girls, and Alcoa girls.

Also making the event are individuals from Tri-Cities Christian, Alcoa, Dobyns Bennett, and West Ridge on the boys side. The girls teams that sent individuals include Science Hill, Gibbs, and Kingston.

In all 22 players from this year’s 1913 Invitational are now playing at the TSSAA State Championship this week in their respective divisions.
