May 30, 2026.
Today was more than an event. It was a reminder of what happens when families, youth, mentors, and community come together with purpose.

Our CIC Level Up Family Symposium was filled with powerful conversations, learning, laughter, growth, and connection. From educational discussions and family engagement to fun activities, great food, music, games, and meaningful moments, the room was full of positive energy all day long.

A special thank you to our licensed family therapist, Ms. St. Louis, for leading impactful conversations that encouraged healing, communication, and stronger family connections.

Thank you as well to Curtis Durham for pouring into our youth and families with meaningful discussion surrounding the educational sector, leadership, growth, and future opportunities. Representation, wisdom, and guidance matter.

We are incredibly grateful to every family, youth, speaker, volunteer, mentor, staff member, and supporter who helped make today successful. Seeing our families smile, engage, and grow together is exactly why we do this work.

At CIC, we are committed to making communities better one person at a time.
The future is loadingโ€ฆ and our families are LEVELING UP! ๐Ÿ’™

This simulation is helpful toward understanding the obstacles of individuals returning home after a period of incarceration.
In this simulation, you get to play the returning citizen. It is all set up...with jail and everything (just in case you violate probation/parole).

The question we want to ask you afterwards is how you navigated the system as you were being released and now, trying to rebuild your life.
It's a fun day, but it is also very frustrating when you realize how often unnecessarily difficult it was to get the things you needed.

You smile though, because, for you, it was just a game. Then you frown because you realize, for those living it, it's a game of a lifetime.

It still takes a village. Register and come join us.

May 16, 2026. Today our Union County youth participated in a powerful discussion about the importance of punctuality, responsibility, and time management in everyday life. โฐ๐Ÿ’ฏ

The mentees completed worksheets focused on punctuality and personal responsibility, then took turns reading their experiences and thoughts out loud to the group. It was great hearing the youth open up, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversation with one another. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ“š

To make the lesson even more interactive and meaningful, each mentee received a brand new watch today. โŒš The goal is to encourage our youth to become more mindful of time, build positive habits, and understand that being on time is a life skill that can open many doors in school, work, sports, and life overall.

Sometimes itโ€™s the small lessons that create the biggest impact. Weโ€™re proud of our youth and look forward to continuing to pour into them each week. ๐Ÿ’™

From the Team Interrupters Inc. family ๐Ÿ’™

We had the privilege of mentoring Gregory when he was just 14 years old, a young man full of potential, vision, and determination. Over the years, we watched him grow, face challenges, stay committed, and truly trust the process.

Yesterday, we are beyond proud to celebrate Greg as he graduated from Rutgers University ๐ŸŽ“ with a degree in Human Resource Management and a minor in Labor Studies.

To witness a mentee come into our program as a teenager and age out as a focused, accomplished, and productive young man is what this work is all about. Greg is a true example of beating the odds and staying locked in on his goals.

Your journey inspired us, and your success means everything to this community. We know this is just the beginningโ€ฆ Masterโ€™s next! ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Continue to make your loved ones proud.

Congratulations, Greg!

NJRCโ€™s training programs are not supplemental. They are a core component of an evidence driven reentry model designed to produce measurable outcomes.

To date, NJRC has served over 31,651 individuals statewide, delivering coordinated services that include legal support, medical and behavioral health care, addiction treatment, and workforce development. More than 14,246 job placements have been achieved through this integrated approach, with a recidivism rate of approximately 14.01 percent.

Workforce training and industry recognized credentials sit at the center of this model. By pairing certification pathways with case management, benefits enrollment, and recovery support, NJRC addresses the structural barriers that prevent sustained employment.

The data is consistent. Stabilization, credentialing, and employment are directly linked to long term outcomes and public safety.

Todayโ€™s session was all about academics, support, and teamwork ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ป

We encouraged our youth to bring their laptops and homework so we could assist them with any subjects or challenges they may be facing. It was truly a great sight to see mentees stepping up and helping one another, showing real teamwork and selfless behavior in action.

Today was very productive, and moments like this remind us how powerful peer support can be ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ

We wrapped up the session with laughter, board games, and of courseโ€ฆ pizza ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ˜„

April 29, 2026

Our Elizabeth Hub site had the opportunity to participate in CICโ€™s Virtual Chef It Up Class, and the menu was TACOS ๐Ÿ˜‹๐ŸŒฎ

Our youth had an amazing time in the kitchen alongside their parents/guardians, learning how to prepare a delicious and healthy homemade meal. It was great to see families bonding, laughing, and building real-life skills together.

Special shoutout to Dr. Tremaine for emphasizing the importance of cooking at home, not only is it a healthier option, but it also helps save money compared to ordering expensive takeout.

Moments like these are what itโ€™s all aboutโ€ฆ learning, growing, and building together
