Last week, our entrepreneurs had an inspiring Monday Meetup exploring “How Podcasting Can Help You Build Brand Awareness” with the amazing Kimberly Sumpter!

Kim shared how entrepreneurs can use podcasting and storytelling to build their brands, share their expertise, connect with their audiences, and expand their impact. Our women didn’t just learn about the power of podcasting. They got hands-on experience recording their very own business pitches! 🎤👏🏾

A special THANK YOU to Kim for sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion with our entrepreneurs and reminding us that our voices have value, our stories matter, and meaningful connections can change lives. 💫

Last night, our women had the incredible opportunity to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at The Met Cloisters for their Hispanic/Latine Heritage Community Reception. ❤️

From experiencing The Cloisters together to making new memories, there were so many firsts and special moments for our women to share. It was a beautiful evening filled with culture, connection, joy, and community.

We are so grateful to partners like Villani Bus Company and The Met for helping make this evening so special and creating an experience our women will remember for years to come. 💛

Thank you for continuing to invest in our and for helping us create spaces where every woman feels seen, celebrated, and welcome.

Happy 23rd Birthday, Josephine’s Place! 🎉

For 23 years, Josephine’s Place has been a place where women can learn, connect, grow, and feel a sense of belonging. And as we celebrate another year, we wanted to celebrate the community that has helped make our story possible. 💛

We are so excited to debut our new window mural, “On the Wings of Our Heritage,” created especially for our 23rd birthday and our theme, Building a Community of Welcome. 🦋

💙 Thank you to our friends at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey!

We are incredibly grateful to the wonderful team who came to Josephine’s Place to volunteer through the Remembrance Through Renewal program.

It is an honor to honor the lives of those who were lost, injured, and affected by the tragedies of 9/11 alongside such incredible people. Their commitment to turning remembrance into service is truly meaningful to us and to our community.

And having some familiar, returning faces join us again was an absolute delight! There’s something special about welcoming back friends who have become part of the Josephine’s Place community. 💛

It was also an absolute treat to have you give our center a fresh new look! ✨ We are so grateful for the time, energy, and care you poured into our space and our community.

Thank you for showing up for Josephine’s Place, for honoring lives through service, and for being such a wonderful partner. We are incredibly grateful for your continued partnership!

Our women took a special trip to Convent Station in Morristown to celebrate St. Vincent’s Day alongside our founders, the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth. 💜

It was a beautiful day rooted in service, connection, and the Vincentian spirit—bringing together the women of Josephine’s Place and the Sisters who helped make our community what it is today.

Throughout the day, our women shared their time, talents, creativity, and generosity, creating heartfelt cards and beautiful crocheted flowers to bring comfort and encouragement to others. 🌸💌 We also came together to support the Father English Food Pantry, putting our commitment to service into action.

More than anything, St. Vincent’s Day was a reminder that we all have something to give. Through small acts of kindness, shared traditions, and coming together as a community, we carry forward a legacy of compassion and service.

We are so grateful to our women and to the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth for a meaningful day of connection, reflection, and love. 💜

Together, we continue to build a community where service brings us closer, kindness becomes action, and every woman has something meaningful to give.

Culture. Community. Connection. Heritage. 🌺

Yesterday at Josephine’s Place, we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a beautiful potluck filled with food, stories, laughter, creativity, and community. ❤️

We gathered to honor the rich and diverse cultures, histories, traditions, and resilience of Hispanic and Latino communities and to celebrate the stories that make each of us who we are.

🪶 ON THE WINGS OF OUR HERITAGE 🪶

As part of our celebration, our women created individual feathers inspired by their heritage: a favorite memory, a family tradition, a beloved place, a flag, a cultural symbol, or simply something that reminds them of home.

Now, all of those individual feathers are coming together to create something bigger: a mural celebrating our collective heritage.

✨ And you’ll be able to experience it, too! ✨

Our “On the Wings of Our Heritage” mural will be on display in the windows of Josephine’s Place by our birthday, October 1! Stop by, see the mural, and take your own photo standing on the wings of our heritage. 📸🪶

Because our heritage gives us wings, and when we come together, we can soar even higher. ❤️
