Yesterday, we hosted the Southwest Region’s C**T (Chapter Officer Leadership Training) Conference! A fun day of learning about:

• Teamwork + Trust
• Officer Roles + Expectations
• Professionalism + Conduct
• Communication + Active Listening
• FFA Mission + Chapter Vision
• Conflict Resolution

…. And a simple hot dog lunch followed by a short game of kickball!

Today, we share the obituary of one of our former advisors with heavy hearts.

An FFA advisor is more than just a teacher. They become a mentor, a role model, a supporter, and for many students, a steady presence during some of the most important years of their lives. The time, energy, and care they pour into a chapter leaves a lasting impact that never really fades.

Long before many of our current members wore the blue jacket, Mr. Winters helped shape this chapter and the students who walked through these doors. His influence can still be seen in the traditions, memories, and passion for agriculture and leadership that continues today.

We are grateful for the legacy he leaves behind and the countless lives he touched along the way. Please keep his family, friends, former students, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Calling ALL incoming 9th graders through 12th graders at Wirt County High School!

Are you ready to challenge yourself, build new skills, and represent the Wirt County FFA? Now is the time to consider joining a Career Development Event (CDE) Team!

CDE competitions are in the process of being moved from December to September - we anticipate practices beginning in June!

Why should YOU join a CDE team?

• Gain valuable knowledge and hands-on skills in agriculture
• Build confidence in yourself and your abilities
• Make new friends and lasting memories
• Work toward future FFA degrees and awards
• Open doors to scholarships, leadership opportunities, and career exploration

Being on a CDE team is a commitment. You will be expected to:

• Attend practices regularly.
• Study independently outside of practice.
• Show consistent effort and a strong work ethic.
• Have the desire to WIN.

Laziness and drama have no place on our teams and are the quickest ways to be dismissed.

Athletes: We work with sports schedules so you do not have to choose between athletics and FFA.

If more than four members sign up for a team, selections will be based on:
• Attendance
• Work ethic
• Consistency

Our ultimate goals are to:
• Expand our knowledge and skill sets
• Gain confidence
• Represent ourselves and our chapter with pride
••• Winning is always THE goal but personal growth and teamwork are what matter most.
