ECP Backpacks Because no child should be hungry, ECP Backpacks provides nutritional, supplemental meals to allevia It costs about $6 per child per weekend for a meal bag.

ECP Backpacks is a community collaboration to provide weekend meal bags for children in Pasquotank County. Children, who are identified by school counselors as food insecure, will discretely receive a bag of food to provide breakfast, lunch, and supper (plus snacks) for the weekend. ECP Backpacks provides a centralized system for purchasing food in bulk and then allows organizations to partner wit

h schools to pack the bags for distribution. A centralized system allows for more efficient purchasing by buying in bulk and leverages the resources of the community for maximum impact. Individuals, businesses, churches, and other organizations can partner together through ECP Backpacks through monetary donations for the purchasing of food, as well as volunteer to pack bags for a particular school in Pasquotank County. 🍎🎒 Tonight we celebrate the start of another year of ECP Backpacks - a weekend feeding program — ensuring local children have food to eat on weekends when school meals aren’t available.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to First Christian Church for generously hosting the ECP Backpack program. Your partnership helps us keep kids fed, cared for, and supported!

Another heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our partner churches and organizations for packing the bags and making sure they get to the schools each and every week!

Good morning! ECP Backpacks is so proud of one of our board members, Skyler Ambrose. Skyler is graduating from Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies and College of The Albemarle.

He has faithfully served on the ECP Backpack Board of Directors for the past few years - helping eliminate food insecurity for students throughout Pasquotank County, but specifically focusing on the students at NEAAAT!

Skyler has helped sort, bag and deliver food to his school so students would have the opportunity to receive food on the weekends when they do not have school meals.

He is a leader and has demonstrated compassion and love for his peers and others!

We will miss you so much but wish you all the success in the world as you head to college in the fall! Much love to you, Skyler.

Skyler is the son of Tommy and Stephanie Ambrose.

A huge thank you to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Zeta Kappa Omega Chapter, Elizabeth City, NC, for their recent $500 donation to ECP Backpacks.

They not only support us financially but they faithfully partner with us to prepare and deliver food for River Road Middle School!

What better time to acknowledge their commitment and dedication to help us eliminate childhood hunger, than on AKA Founders’ Day! Thank you, friends! 🩷💚🩷💚

ECP Backpacks was excited to partner with area churches, Food Bank of the Albemarle, and First Christian Church to provide holiday meals for our families to prepare at home. 🎄

Each family received a turkey, along with all the fixings and sides for a nice meal during the holidays. 🦃 🫛🌽

We were able to feed 50 families for Christmas! ❤️🎄❤️
