Final Day... Homeward Bound! 🇺🇸🥾

After an unforgettable adventure at Philmont, our crew began the journey home with one final overnight stop at Cannon Air Force Base.

Before arriving at the base, they made a stop in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, to visit the Billy the Kid Museum and pay a visit to the famous outlaw's gravesite. It was a fun opportunity to learn a little Old West history before continuing the trip home.

A special thank you goes to Cannon Air Force Base for once again welcoming our crew. They graciously provided a place for the Scouts to stay both on the way to Philmont and on the return trip home. Your hospitality made a long journey much easier, and we are truly grateful.

After getting settled, the crew wrapped up the day with a little friendly competition at Cannon Lanes, enjoying an evening of bowling, laughter, and one last chance to relax together before heading home.

As this incredible journey comes to an end, we're thankful for the memories made, the challenges overcome, the friendships strengthened, and the leaders these Scouts have become along the way.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for our crew, supported our fundraisers, and encouraged them throughout this adventure. Your support helped make this once-in-a-lifetime experience possible.

Until the next adventure... ⚜️

Philmont Day 8 - Back to Base Camp... with full hearts and unforgettable memories. 🥾⛰️

The crew's final hike of the trek was also the shortest, leading them to the pickup point where they boarded the bus back to Philmont Base Camp. While the hiking may have been over, there was still plenty to do!

After arriving at Base Camp, the crew completed the checkout process, cleaned and returned their gear, and received their tent assignments for one last night at Philmont.

Then it was time to celebrate! 🍕 They enjoyed some well-earned pizza from the Base Camp Cantina before exploring the National Scouting Museum, shopping at Tooth of Time Traders, branding and taking a trip into Cimarron to visit the Car Museum. The day wrapped up with burgers and ice cream at Cree-Mee, a visit to the historic St. James Hotel and one final campfire back at Base Camp.

It's hard to put into words everything this crew experienced over the past several days. They hiked rugged trails, climbed mountains, learned new skills, encouraged one another through challenges, and created friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.

What an incredible adventure! We're so proud of this crew and all they accomplished at Philmont.

⚜️ Once a Philmont trek ends, the memories—and the lessons learned—stay with you forever.

Philmont Day 7 - From mountain peaks to frontier adventures! 🥾⛰️

After conquering Mt. Baldy, our crew made the steep hike back down to Baldy Town, where one of the most anticipated moments of the trek awaited... hot showers! 🚿 After days on the trail, there were plenty of smiles and a renewed sense of energy.

Following some well-earned cleanup, the crew hiked back to camp for the night. The next morning, they hit the trail again, making their way to the next staffed camp for another full day of adventure.

There, they stepped back into the days of the American frontier by:
🎯 Trying their hand at black powder rifle shooting
🪓 Testing their aim with tomahawk throwing
🏕️ Exploring a traditional teepee while learning about the fur trade, mountain men, and the tools they relied on to survive.

One of the things that makes Philmont so special is the variety of experiences along the trail. Every camp offers something unique, giving crews the chance to build new skills, learn history, and make memories they'll carry with them long after the trek is over.

The adventure continues, one trail and one camp at a time! ⚜️

Philmont Day 6 - One summit. Countless memories. ⛰️🥾

Our crew hiked to their next trail camp at 10,000 feet before taking on one of Philmont's greatest challenges—Mt. Baldy, standing at 12,441 feet.

The climb was steep, rocky, and demanding. The descent was just as challenging, requiring careful footing, determination, and trust in one another. It was a true test of endurance, perseverance, and teamwork.

But every difficult step was worth it. Standing on the summit, surrounded by breathtaking views, reminded everyone why they trained so hard for this adventure.

We're incredibly proud of this crew for encouraging one another through one of the toughest days of their trek. Experiences like this build confidence, resilience, and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Congratulations to the entire crew on reaching the top of Mt. Baldy! ⚜️

Philmont Day 5 - The adventure continues! 🥾⛰️

Our crew hiked on to the next staffed camp, taking in the incredible scenery and tackling another day on the Philmont trail.

Once they arrived, they stepped back in time with a visit to the camp's historic mine. The crew tried their hand at gold panning and toured the old mining operation, learning what life was like during New Mexico's mining days. It was a fun mix of hands-on history, adventure, and a little hope of striking it rich!

From mountain trails to mining history, every day at Philmont offers something new to discover.

⚜️ Adventure, history, and memories around every bend.

Philmont Day 4 – Another incredible day on the trail! 🥾⛰️

Our crew reached the next staffed camp and packed a lot of adventure into the day!

They took on the challenge of spar climbing, encouraging one another every step of the way as they climbed higher and pushed past their comfort zones. Along the trail, they were treated to an unforgettable sighting of elk in their natural habitat—a reminder of just how amazing the Philmont wilderness truly is.

The day ended gathered around a campfire program, where stories were shared, songs were sung, and memories were made under the New Mexico stars.

Every mile, every challenge, and every experience is building stronger leaders, stronger friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.

⚜️ Onward to the next adventure!
