Troop 472 Philmont Shakedown Campout 🏕️🥾

This weekend, Troop 472, Troop 1423 and Crew 565 headed to Hill Country State Natural Area for a Philmont shakedown campout as we continue preparing for our 9-day trek at Philmont Scout Ranch this July.

Scouts put their training and gear to the test with backpacking, hiking, campsite setup, meal preparation, and teamwork challenges designed to simulate conditions they'll experience on the trail.

These shakedown outings help us identify what works, what needs improvement, and build the confidence needed for a successful Philmont adventure.

A huge thank you to our Scouts, leaders, and families for their dedication and support. Every mile hiked and every lesson learned brings us one step closer to the mountains of New Mexico!
