🎉 Congratulations to Our Fit & Strong! Graduates! 🎉

Friday, May 22nd we celebrated an incredible group of participants who successfully completed the first Fit & Strong! session offered through the SHAPR 5.0 Grant at the Elgin Recreation Center.

For 12 weeks, these dedicated individuals showed up twice a week, committed to improving their health and well-being through both fitness activities and educational discussions focused on healthy aging, strength, mobility, and active living. Their hard work, determination, and consistency have been truly inspiring!

This program was more than just exercise—it was about building confidence, creating healthy habits, making new friendships, and investing in a stronger future. We are so proud of each participant for staying committed and crossing the finish line.

A special thank you to our instructors, volunteers, and partners who helped make this first session a success. The best news? This is only the beginning! Thanks to the SHAPR 5.0 Grant, Fit & Strong! will continue to provide opportunities for our community to stay active, healthy, and connected.

In observance of Memorial Day, the Elgin Recreation Center will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25th. This time allows our staff the opportunity to rest and spend time with their families while we also take a moment to honor and remember those who served our country.

All programs and activities scheduled for Monday will be cancelled. We will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend.
