Today, we pause to remember and honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, cookouts, and time with family. It is a day to reflect on the cost of the freedoms we enjoy and to remember those who never had the opportunity to come home.

As firefighters, we understand the meaning of service, sacrifice, and answering the call when others need help. Today we recognize those who answered a greater call and gave everything in service to something bigger than themselves.

To the families carrying the weight of that sacrifice every day—we remember with you, and we honor your loved ones.

Please take a moment today to pause, reflect, and remember.

May we never forget.

🚒 Investing Back Into Porter Hill Fire Department 🚒
Because of the continued support of our incredible community and responsible use of fundraiser dollars, today Porter Hill Fire Department was able to purchase 6 large double-wall lockers, providing a total of 12 dedicated gear lockers for our firefighters.
While lockers may not seem like the most exciting purchase, this is a meaningful investment in taking care of both our firefighters and the equipment entrusted to us.
These lockers provide each firefighter with a designated place to safely store their bunker gear and wildland gear, helping protect it from unnecessary wear, contamination, moisture, dust, and pests that can damage or shorten the life of critical protective equipment.
Turnout gear and wildland gear are expensive resources that our department depends on to safely serve this community. Proper storage helps extend the life of that equipment, keep it organized and ready for response, and ensures we are being good stewards of the support and resources provided by our community and taxpayers.
Every fundraiser ticket purchased, every donation, and every show of support helps make improvements like this possible.
Thank you for continuing to invest in your fire department. We do not take that trust lightly, and we will continue working to use those resources wisely and responsibly.

Last night’s tornado brought devastation to Enid and the surrounding communities. Homes, families, and lives were impacted in a matter of moments.
From all of us at Porter Hill Fire Department, we want the people of Enid to know that you are not alone.
Our thoughts are with the families who are hurting, the first responders working tirelessly, and everyone beginning the long road to recovery.
In times like this, we are reminded how strong our communities are. Oklahoma always shows up for one another—and we know Enid will rebuild stronger than ever.

We want to share something with our community that truly speaks to the kind of people we are surrounded by.

The winner of our Pit Boss Smoker & Griddle raffle, Kevin along with his family, made the decision to donate the prize back to the department.

Kevin shared that he and his family wanted to give the prize back to support the department and show appreciation for what we do for the community.

This kind of generosity doesn’t go unnoticed. It reflects the strength, character, and heart of this community.

In honor of this, we are planning a Community Meet & Greet as a way to give back and spend time with those who support us.

🎁 We will also be giving away the $100 Ranchers Market gift card at this event.

🎟️ Each person who attends will receive one free ticket upon arrival. All tickets will be entered into a drawing, and one name will be selected during the event to win the gift card.

We’ve been made aware of a post circulating in a local Facebook group regarding our current raffle at the Apache Rattlesnake Festival.
While we truly appreciate anyone who takes the time to support and promote Porter Hill Volunteer Fire Department, we would like to clarify that the information in that post is not 100% accurate.
The turnout and support for our raffle has been outstanding. We have had a steady flow of community members stopping by to say hello, purchasing tickets, and showing their support—and we could not be more grateful.
To everyone who has come out to the festival, bought tickets, shared our posts, or simply stopped by to say hello—thank you. Your continued support is what helps keep our department running and allows us to serve this community when it matters most.
If you haven’t had a chance yet, there is still time—tickets are available today at the Apache Rattlesnake Festival until the drawing at 4 PM. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.

Today was a great day out at the Apache Rattlesnake Festival. We really enjoyed getting to meet everyone. If you did not get a chance to come out today, we will be back out tomorrow and Sunday as well. Come on out and meet your fire department.
