You've heard of criminal justice reform, but what exact impact will the new laws have on the State of Illinois? Starting next year, after being charged with the crimes listed below, criminals eligible for probation upon conviction would be able to be released pending a court date. The law would also allow judges to keep suspects that they consider dangerous in custody without bail.

WFCN News will have an in-depth look, along with interviews with local law enforcement raising concerns about the new law, later this week.

120pm: Updated Severe Weather Outlook for Monday - A Long Tracked MCS/Derecho will be Possible with 75+ mph Wind Gusts...

- In the midday update today from the spc, a slight risk is in place across most of Northern Illinois and this extends into Wisconsin and points east. This will be for the threat of severe weather with damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes on Monday. The dark outlined highlighted area is an area that is favored at this time for potentially significant, widespread damaging wind gusts Monday afternoon and evening and those wind gusts could top 75-90 mph.

- This forecast, as we said this morning, is far from finalized and will need to be updated tonight as new data comes in but anywhere from Southern Wisconsin, Northern Illinois through Northern Ohio could be impacted by significant damaging wind gusts on Monday from a strong MCS/Derecho

- For northern Illinois, our threat will be from 12pm-8pm Monday and damaging wind gusts (potentially significant) and isolated tornadoes will be possible. Track of these storms will be key and the far northern areas are favored for the greatest impacts right now.

- Highs will be stuck in the 40s and 50s. The peak of this cold will be towards the end of next weekend and highs early next week could struggle to get out of the 30s. Very cold air for this time of the year when average highs are in the upper 50s.

More Snow This Week???

- We likely have at least one more snowfall this month with another 1-3 inches looking very possible Thursday night into Friday. Here are the GEFS ensemble probabilities of at least 1 inch of snow on Friday.

- Looking into next week, we warm up into the 40s, 50s, and perhaps a day in the 60s.
