I've been occupied with other things lately, so I haven't spent as much time with the website as I would like. Started working on it again and there's lot of new stuff on there. I hope to work on another Elgin website soon dedicated to Painted Ladies. If you have any pictures that you're willing to share, please send them to me.

I also started another website for buildings and companies that are gone. It's Thereusedtobe.net. Take a look and see what you think, and again, if you have other pictures of this sort you'd like added, send them my way.

Someday soon, the Sears brand may vanish. But the name lives on in houses Sears sold by catalog some 90 years ago. Buyers then put them together. In Elgin, Ill., many are still standing.
