untain bike, Elgin and the surrounding area has some of the best roads and single track in the state. Elgin hosted Cycle Oregon 2008 and the participants enjoyed the warm welcome of the community, the awesome scenery along the routes, including spectacular mountain peaks, meandering rivers, and a wide variety of wildlife. You can pick up a local cycling map at the Chamber of Commerce and plan a full or half day trip, there are many routes to choose for both road and mountain biking. Experience the ultimate in cycling and let North Eastern Oregon be your first choice for the ride of your life. Elgin Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization founded in 1966 and incorporated in 2002. The Chamber is managed by of a volunteer board including a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Membership dues from businesses and fund raisers contribute to our general fund. Each year we sponsor the Annual Chamber Banquet, cook at the Elgin Stampede, sponsor the Elgin Stampede Parade, sell t-shirts to promote the community, and provide resources for visitors and local businesses. The Chamber contributes to several community projects with the most recent being a new Veteran Memorial in our downtown park and the completion of this wonderful web site. The Elgin Chamber of Commerce meets every third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM in the Elgin Edge Room located in the back of US Bank. You do not have to be a member or pay dues to attend our meetings. We encourage you to attend and welcome your ideas and support for our wonderful community.

The Elgin Museum & Historical Society invites you to a special afternoon celebrating women’s suffrage and the 19th Amendment!

Guests will enjoy an afternoon filled with history, entertainment, and a traditional tea experience, including:

Visits with 1900s Suffragettes.
An appearance by the Women’s Temperance Union Choir
A special tea presentation from Morning Star Blends of Pendleton, Traditional tea sandwiches, Scones & dessert.
