The Texas Center for Local Food was founded in 2016 and is a project of the Growers Alliance of Central Texas (Gro-ACT). The Growers Alliance of Central Texas is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Be a primary point of contact for resources and referrals related to our Texas food system.

2. Stimulate creation and retention of quality jobs in rural and semi-rural Texas.

3. Catalyze and develop new markets and infrastructure for products that are both Texas grown and Texas made.

4. Support development of a robust Texas grown food system that is equitable and healthy for people, animals and the planet.

Congratulations to the 2nd Texas Brazos Valley Farm Success cohort who gathered for a final session and graduation last Saturday! A partnership between TCLF and NWIA-TX, the cohort visited 2 local farms and learned about topics ranging from soil health and pest management to marketing and financial record keeping. We are still collecting data from everyone but are happy to see 100% satisfaction and improved operational processes so far. Thank you to everyone who has supported and participated in this training program. Waco National Women In Agriculture Association

It's Farmworker Awareness Week -- Take a moment to thank the workers who bring your food every day!

Farmworkers are essential to getting fresh and healthy food on supermarket shelves. We don’t see them, but they grow, harvest, process and pack our fresh food. Farmworkers deserve our appreciation and thanks along with safe and respectful workplaces.

Learn more about supporting farmworkers by following and watch the video series highlighting A Day in the Life of a Farmworker https://equitablefood.org/day-in-the-life-farmworker-video-series
