In church we like to run to verses that have a dramatic sound, or that look good when framed on our walls, like “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15b.

While those verses are a wonderful part of our Lord’s scriptures, and motivate us to action day by day, they only work in practice when we read the entire passage. In order to say profound things like “We will serve the Lord” we must first put in the work so we can serve God.

We must take time day by day to clean up our lives and hearts. This means that we must clean up our actions, like getting rid of bad habits, as well as our hearts by replacing corrupted desires through daily prayer and Bible study.

Like the Hebrews that Joshua talked to, we will never be perfect. We will continue to fail and backslide on our faith at times. We will commit sins, some small, others not so small, but through God’s Grace, and our trust in Christ, we will continue to move forward in our relationship to Him.

May you all have a blessed day, and God bless you. If you know someone who needs prayer, please feel free to message us through our website at www.christianstewardacademy.org.

This day of the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ was marked by darkness. While He endured darkness and the fate of the Passover Lamb, we received light and life. That afternoon, two centuries ago, remains a powerful symbol of the desolation the Son of God experienced and will be remembered by all who read the Gospel.

Good Friday reminds us that sin is so serious that only the death of the Son of God could atone for it. Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. God gave His only Son out of love for us.

This means Christian education should do more than just say Jesus Christ rose from the dead. It should help students understand what His resurrection means. Jesus Christ is Lord, and every subject and sphere of life belongs to Him. Nothing stands outside His authority.

What we believe in our hearts, we speak with our mouths. Belief and confession go hand in hand, just like faith and actions. Those who are truly saved will show evidence of their new life in Jesus Christ. Sometimes faith leads to confession right away, and other times it takes longer, but Jesus teaches that confessing our faith is necessary.

A Bible illustration of this is the thief on the cross in Luke 23:42–43, who had only the chance to believe, but whose faith brought him into God’s Kingdom. For others, as faith grows and produces results, the outward signs mentioned earlier will show that salvation is real.

Do not wait. If you truly want to be saved, do not put off making this important choice.

What do we need to do to be saved? We need to believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus is like the ark that saved Noah and his family. It was not Noah’s good deeds, feelings, tears, or prayers that saved him. If Noah had relied on his feelings, prayers, or deeds, he would have been lost like everyone else. It was the ark that saved him and his family. Jesus Christ is our ark.

Thanks for tuning in and welcome back! We hope you had a great Spring Break. If you have questions about salvation or God, or if you know someone who needs prayers, please leave us a message on our website at www.christianstewardacademy.org.

When Peter was arrested by Herod, the early Christians kept praying to God for him. God answered their prayers in a miraculous way (verse 7). Peter trusted God completely and responded with obedience and joy. We can be thankful that nothing can stop us from praying. Through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, prayer connects us to God. Even if we cannot talk directly to friends who are suffering for their faith or facing temptation, we can still pray for them. Faithful prayer makes a difference. Many people have been saved from sin, just as Peter was freed from prison, because of sincere and persistent prayer.

Thanks for tuning in! We hope you have a blessed weekend and if you have a prayer request, please send us a message at www.christianstewardacademy.org.

God calls people to serve Him in many ways, not just in public roles but also behind the scenes, like Ananias. Ananias was obedient and listened to God, following His call even when he was afraid for his safety.

A Sunday school teacher asked a young boy what role he had in his own salvation. The boy replied that it was partly God’s work and partly his. When the teacher asked him to explain, the boy said, “I opposed God all I could, and he did the rest.” Like Ananias, we are called to obey God even when it is difficult.

Thank you for tuning in today. We hope God’s Word has encouraged you. If you know someone who needs prayer, please leave us a message on our website at www.christianstewardacademy.org.

Many people think of repentance as feeling sorry for their sins, which is often linked to true repentance. But the Greek word 'metanoia' actually means a change in mindset. Sometimes, it refers to turning away and choosing a new path. In Acts 2, Peter’s Jewish audience had once rejected and crucified Jesus, the Messiah, but now they needed to accept Him as their Savior. The Bible connects repentance with faith, since real faith includes true repentance. When someone is saved, they turn away from their sins, reject their old ways, and fully trust in what Jesus Christ has done.

Thank you for tuning in! As we get ready for Holy Week, we hope God’s Word encourages you. If you know someone who needs prayers, please leave a message at www.christianstewardacademy.org. We would be happy to pray for them.

Here is the CSB translation to better understand this verse:
"Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God."

We will discuss this verse as a reflection of President’s Day. Thomas Jefferson was elected our third and fourth President and served from 1801-1809. He believed that national liberty meant freedom from excessive or unfair government control. He acknowledged that people’s liberties are granted by God, who gave mankind free will. He stated that when a nation forgets that our freedom originates from God, we start misusing liberty and infringing on others' rights. In his book, Notes on Virginia, he wrote:

“And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep for ever…”

We hope you have a blessed week. If you know anyone in need of prayer, please leave a message on our website at www.christianstewardacademy.org.

This Valentine’s weekend, we invite you to show love by taking action. We want to follow Jesus Christ’s example, as he showed love by serving others. In John 13:4–5, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, reminding us that real love is active.

If you have know someone who is in need of prayers, please us a message on our website at www.christianstewardacademy.org.

Hallelujah (הַלְלוּ־יָהּ, hallû-yāh; ἀλληλουιά, allēlouia) comes from two Ancient Hebrew words meaning “praise Jah,” short for “praise Yahweh.” Yahweh is God’s personal, self-revealed name. But the word, Hallelujah, is a transliteration from the Greek expression hallēlouia. It appears in the books of Psalm and Revelation. It is a joyful call to worship God, traditionally sung at Christmas and Easter time. We need to remember that every time we sing “Hallelujah,” or “Alleluia,” we are praising the Lord Most High, Yahweh, with absolute respect and love, and if we casually use “Hallelujah,” or “Alleluia,” we are essentially taking the name of our Lord God in vain.
