Hello Elgin!! Looking for a couple of drivers for tomorrow, March 6 at 4:45. Elgin Cares delivers meals to home bound people in need on Fridays. The routes take about 30-45 minutes and its a great feeling to help our people in need. If you can spare the time, please let me know or sign up on the calendar.

Our club supports Operation Turkey Elgin every year by volunteering to deliver FREE 💜 meals! 🍽 🍗
So join us 🤝 and take part in making sure every family gets a special meal - its an amazing thing and always a wonderful reminder to be grateful for our own blessings! 🙏

🫶🏽 Operation Turkey Elgin serves Elgin, as well as the surrounding cities of McDade and Paige.

Note: * Meal Request link will close on Friday, November 21st at 11:59PM cst UNLESS or before that date, if we have reached our cities capacity.

Operation Turkey is now accepting requests for meal delivery on Thanksgiving Day 2025. Meals are delivered to designated zip codes near volunteer locations.

Yesterday at our Monday meeting, we had some visitors (thanks for coming Morgan Louvier and Megan Howard ), and we put together Thanksgiving meals for 🏍 Elgin Riders 🏍 who will distribute to families in need! 💫

27 bags y'all 🍽🍗. Way to go! 🎉

🎃 Had a great time handing 🍭 candy 🍬 out to the littles this past Friday! 🎃
Weather was perfect, and all the cosutmes were so cute!

Helping others always feels good! 💗 And so many people need help, so how can we help them all?? 🤷‍♀️

Well, we can't. 🥺 At least not all at once. But we CAN help people one person at a time. 💪

📆 If you help once a month, once a quarter, or even once a year, please think of us next time you're looking for ways to give back. 🙏

Join us at one of our Monday meetings 📝, one of our upcoming Volunteer Work Days 👷, or make a monetary donation 💸

Our first work day will be Saturday, November 8th!
Last one for the year is on December 6th!

🛠 Work days can be anything from helping someone build a ramp into their house 🏡 to cleaning up someone's yard; or 🚯 picking up litter off the street or parks to something more organized like 🛌 building beds for children.

No need for RSVPs - just show up Nov 8th and come do some good with us for a couple of hours. 💫

Our next meeting is Monday, November 3rd! We meet at the Elgin Chamber of Commerce on Main St. from 12-1pm!

🙏 A BIG thank you to 🏍 ELGIN RIDERS 🏍 for spearheading this and reaching out to us for help!
(sorry, I couldn't find a way to tag the riders 😳)

If you're interested in Rotary and/or just simply want to help out, meet us there! 🫶

If you want to just donate some bag items*, we'll need the following:

- 🥖Stuffing mix
- 🥘Gravy mix
- 🍮Cranberry sauce
- 🍰Cake mix w/ icing
- 🥔Mashed potatoes

*if donating, please donate 1 full bag of items as opposed to a bunch of just 1 item.

Had SO much fun at our 🐽 Hogeye Festival 🐽 this year! Got to meet so many new people and talk about how Rotary is here to serve Elgin and the new things we're up to! 🤲

We even got to see our very own Tiffany Miller perform with the ! 🐷👠
Also a big thank you to our treasurer Brad Ormesher for getting up at dawn and volunteering with the logistics team! ☕

Elgin Cares delivers meals every Friday to people who are unable to pick up their meals at Mt. Moriah. The routes include about 10 stops and can be completed in about an hour. If you can help us just one Friday a month, please let me know. I'm hoping to get a schedule down so that they can continue to serve the community in this much needed way.
