Sons of the American Legion, #352, Elgin, IA Chartered in November 2021 to carry on the legacy of our Elgin Legion forefathers!

The Mission of Sons of the American Legion Squadron #352 is to
• Support our local Legion, community and veterans
• Honor our forefather’s service to our country and carry on their patriotic legacy
• Demonstrate to our youth the principles of justice, freedom and democracy

Last night at our June meeting, Post 352 had the pleasure of presenting a check for $3200 to the NE iowa Vietnam Veterans Association. These funds were raised at May 23rd Steak Fry. Receiving the check on behalf of the Association were Post 352 members Ron Soppe and Mark Benson.

SAL Squadron 352 conducted a flag retirement ceremony tonight for the Elgin Legion Post. More than 170 flags were properly retired during the ceremony. These flags were collected throughout the year via the collection box that sits in the front of the Veterans Memorial Community Building in Elgin.

Great food great fun at tonight’s Elgin Legion steak fry. Thanks to all who attended; what a turnout! And thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this an amazing event. Proceeds will go to the NE Iowa Vietnam Veterans Association’s museum and memorial project.
