🌱The 2026 crop season is underway at the North Scott Ag Program!
Our Farm Squad members got hands-on experience helping plant soybeans and corn plots to learn about the process that starts every successful crop. Throughout the growing season, our Farm Squad members will take the lead in managing and monitoring the plot, gaining real-world agricultural experience from planting to harvest.
A huge thank you to our sponsors and supporters who make opportunities like this possible. Your investment helps provide meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for our students and the future of agriculture.

The Foods of Animal Origin class recently visited Cinnamon Ridge Farms for a hands-on learning experience. During the visit, class members toured the facility, interacted with the cows, sampled a variety of cheeses, and had the opportunity to explore and shop at the Country Cupboard. The trip provided a unique look into dairy production and allowed participants to connect classroom concepts with real-world agricultural practices.

The Vet Assistant class recently visited Kings Harvest Animal Rescue and toured the facility to learn more about animal rescue, rehabilitation, and care. During their visit, students had the opportunity to meet several beagles rescued from Wisconsin and hear their inspiring stories.

Students gained valuable insight into the importance of providing animals with safe homes, proper medical care, and the support needed for successful rehabilitation. This hands-on experience offered a closer look at the daily work involved in animal welfare and highlighted the meaningful impact rescue organizations have on animals in need.

Thank you to Kings Harvest Animal Rescue for sharing your knowledge and dedication with our students!

Please help us congratulate Reagan Claussen on being selected to attend the 2026 Global Youth Institute hosted by the World Food Prize Foundation! Reagan was selected through the Iowa Youth Institute and chosen as one of just over 30 students selected from a pool of 365 students for this incredible global honor.

As part of the application process, Reagan researched water insecurity in agriculture in Yemen and explored the challenges farmers face in accessing reliable water resources while sustaining food production.

At the Global Youth Institute, students from across the United States and countries including Honduras, Kenya, the Netherlands, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sweden, Uganda, and the United Kingdom will collaborate with global leaders, researchers, and industry experts to address food security and sustainability challenges. During the conference, Reagan will present research, participate in discussions on global agriculture issues, and connect with other young leaders working to create a more food-secure future.

We are proud to see Reagan representing the North Scott Agriculture Program on an international stage!
