I've sat around all afternoon and this morning trying to come up with the words to thank everyone that showed up yesterday for little liam. We had people from all over the country show up from Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi all over Alabama. It was awesome seeing everyone come together for such a good cause. We made it a awesome day for him. I want to thank the family letting us able to help in making it a great day. Everyone single person that showed up made this day special for him. It warmed my heart seeing everyone come together. There was so many people involved in making it a great day. I thank everyone that showed up, helped with the event or even shared it to get the word out. From the heart THANK YOU!!

Did we ride nearly 200miles just eat lunch and come home? Yes. Did we have to stop on the side of the road and relocate a battery after a bracket broke and fried some wiring? Yes. Was it like 100+degrees all day? Yes.

But was it worth it? Absolutely yes!

Update on our Red Knights Brother Richard Meeks 💔
Our hearts are heavy 💔 Our prayers go out for his family 🙏🏼

As many of you have heard, it is with much sadness to report that Curry Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Richard Meeks, who also serves as the WCFA Vice President, has been declared brain dead at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham due to apparent meningitis that occured suddenly. He is an organ donor. There will be an Honor Walk at Princeton Hospital on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM. If you wish to participate, please be there by 9:30 AM. I don't have specific info on where to go at Princeton other than the MICU.
The Honor Walk is where hallways are lined with family and friends as Richard is moved to the OR.
Danny Atkins, Curry Fire Chief, can be contacted if additional information is needed.
Please keep the Family and Curry Fire in your thoughts and prayers. Funeral arrangements will be announced later when known.

It's been a busy few weekends with Red Knights AL 8 and Iron Angles Winston County, and we aren't done yet. We completed 2 turkey shoots and bought some toys for the local FOP and delivered those toys today. Dec 20th, this coming up weekend from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Double Springs Municipal Building, will be our potluck fundraiser for one of our local Heros Heath Lewis. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy some food and family time with our family. To eat it will be a donation with all proceeds going to Heath. Food donations will be welcomed as well. A small list of things that we have will be as follows. Hashbrown casserole, corn dip, Smoked Chicken legs and thighs, smoked turkey and ham, Deer chili, goulash with onions and cornbread, tortellini soup and much more. We appreciate all the support ahead of time and can't wait to see everyone.

4th Annual Brass Nuts ride with Pebble Fire and our local Red Knights AL8 chapter. Registration opens at 9am and we'll be heading north at 10am to grab some good food at The Woods at River Road
