Since 1994, Camp Penuel East has provided FREE summer camp for kids 7-11 where children experience fun, belonging, and the love of Jesus so no child feels unloved. Over 85,000 children have enjoyed free camp through our free camping program.

Sometimes ministry is fun… and sometimes ministry is DIRTY! 😂🛠️

Today was definitely a digging kind of day here at Camp Penuel East! ⛏️💪

Our standpipe for the campground water lines needed to be replaced, which meant somebody had to get in there and DIG it out! Thankfully, we had some amazing helpers who were willing to get their hands dirty, put in the work, and help us get everything replaced and back in working order.

We are so thankful for every person who sees a need and simply says, “I’ll help.” ❤️

Ministry isn’t always standing behind a pulpit. Sometimes it looks like shovels, dirt, hard work, sweat, and getting the job done so this campground can continue serving others.

Sometimes ministry is beautiful. Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s downright dirty. But it’s ALL ministry when we do it for the Lord! 🙌

Thank you to everyone who continues to help us keep Camp Penuel East moving forward. We couldn’t do it without you! ❤️

🏕️ PROGRESS, PROGRESS, PROGRESS! 🏕️

We are continuing to make progress on the buildings here at Camp Penuel East, and we couldn’t be more excited! Just look at the beautiful makeover the Fox Cabin has received! 😍

This week, we even got new baseboards put in—and they shine brighter than the snow! ❄️✨ It’s amazing to see what a little hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of prayer can do!

Summer may be slowly fading into fall 🍂, but the projects here are still going strong! We are working hard to get as many projects completed as possible before the camp has to close down for the winter.

There are long days, lots of work, and plenty still to be done—but we know it is all worth it. ❤️

Please continue to keep Camp Penuel East in your prayers as we work through these projects and continue pouring our hearts into this place. Pray for strength, wisdom, provision, and safety for everyone working so hard.

We are so excited to see what God has planned for Camp Penuel East and for all the children whose lives will be impacted here in the years to come.

The work we are doing today is helping prepare a place where children can come, make memories, find hope, hear about Jesus, and experience the love of God. ❤️

🏕️ CAMP PENUEL EAST UPDATE! 🏕️

This has been one VERY busy week at Camp Penuel East, and we are so incredibly blessed! ❤️

We are excited to share that Cabin 9 has a brand-new roof! 🙌🏼🏠 What a blessing this has been!

We weren’t able to get any photos during the construction because we were blessed with the opportunity to have our Amish friends come and help with the work. We deeply respect their beliefs and their wishes regarding photography, so we chose not to take photos while they were here. We are simply so thankful for their hard work, generosity, and willingness to help! ❤️

But we can show you the BEFORE & AFTER! 👀➡️✨

Take a look at the difference! This roof is another important step toward getting Camp Penuel East ready for another summer of ministry.

We cannot say THANK YOU enough to everyone who has donated, prayed, volunteered, encouraged us, and helped in any way. Every gift, every prayer, every helping hand, and every sacrifice is making a difference.

We are working hard now because we believe in what God is going to do in 2027. Our goal isn’t simply to have camp open—it is to make Camp Penuel East the very best it can be so that children can come to camp, experience His love, hear His Word, and have the opportunity to come face-to-face with God. ❤️

There is still much work to be done, but look how far we’ve already come!

The Pentecostal Men of Olean are spending this week at Camp East enjoying fellowship, digging into the Word, and investing in the next generation. 🙌

Being a Christian is about more than simply having a relationship with God. It’s about building our lives around serving others, making disciples, and teaching those coming behind us how to follow Christ.

I absolutely love seeing our men intentionally pouring into these young men and helping prepare them to one day lead, serve, and disciple others themselves. ❤️

The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go…” — Proverbs 22:6

This week isn’t just about teaching these young men to hear the voice of God and spend time in His presence. It’s also about training them to become men who know how to seek God, serve others, lead with integrity, and help others grow in their relationship with Christ.

It’s not enough to simply be Christians.

We must train up Christians.

What happens when one generation takes the time to invest in the next? We build a legacy that continues long after we’re gone. 🔥

We are thankful for men who aren’t just talking about discipleship—they are living it.

This week, the Pentecostal Men of Olean are at Camp Penuel East, and they are spending their time doing something that is becoming increasingly rare in our busy world—simply getting alone with God.

They are diving into the Word, spending time in worship, and making room for one-on-one time with the Lord. 🙏

There is something special that happens when you get away from the noise and spend time with God in the middle of nowhere.

No distractions.
No pressure.
No demands.

Just you, God, His Word, and others who are seeking Him too.

Sometimes we need to step away from everything around us so we can hear the One who matters most.

We are thankful to have the Pentecostal Men of Olean at Camp Penuel East this week. We pray that God continues to meet them in a powerful way and that what He is doing in the quiet places follows them home. ❤️‍🔥

There is nothing quite like getting away with God.

🔨 THE WORK NEVER STOPS AT CAMP PENUEL EAST! 🔨

The Lord’s work doesn’t stop just because camp is over! There is always something to be done to prepare this property for the next group of children who will walk through the gates. ❤️

Jamie Metcalf and Gary Moyer have been hard at work making repairs and getting things ready. Right now, they are working on repairing the kitchen hot water tank and ceiling, along with taking care of the many other projects around the property.

It may not always be the glamorous part of camp ministry, but these behind-the-scenes jobs are so important! Every repair, every project, and every hour of work is helping prepare Camp Penuel East to continue being a place where children can experience the love of Jesus. 🙏❤️

We are so thankful for people who are willing to roll up their sleeves, get to work, and serve wherever they are needed!

One project. One step. One day at a time.

As summer begins to wind down, the work at Camp Penuel East is still going strong!

Our new directors, Gary and Debbie Moyer, have been faithfully serving on the property and working tirelessly to prepare the camp for groups that will be arriving soon. There is still plenty to be done, but with each passing day, progress is being made one step at a time.

We are so thankful for their dedication, vision, and willingness to invest their time and energy into this ministry. God is doing great things at Camp Penuel East, and we are excited about what is ahead.

Please join us in praying for Gary and Debbie as they continue this important work. Most importantly, pray for every child, family, volunteer, and group that will be coming to the camp in the days ahead. May lives be changed, hearts be touched, and God be glorified through everything that takes place on these grounds.

❤️We Need Your Help ❤️

For 32 years, Camp Penuel has been dedicated to one mission: sharing the love of Jesus Christ with children. Through God’s faithfulness and the generosity of His people, we’ve been able to provide FREE camp to children from all walks of life. Kids travel from miles away to hear about Jesus, build lasting friendships, and experience a week filled with love, laughter, and hope.

Today, we’re asking for your help.

Recently, our kitchen suffered significant damage after a water heater failed. The leak caused extensive damage that must be repaired before our next group arrives in just a couple of weeks.

Here are our most urgent needs:

* Repair or replace the water heater
* Replace the food and supplies that were destroyed in our pantry
* Repair the drywall and insulation damaged by the water

Every dollar given will go directly toward restoring these essential areas so we can continue welcoming children and sharing the Gospel with every child who comes through our gates.
