Painting the fall pumpkins was one of the hardest yet
most rewarding times of the year. Seeing the students working together to make money for food baskets for the holidays become a special and rewarding time in my teaching career. Although I have retired and enjoy working at Nature's Nest I have come to realize this was one of my best days of my teaching experience. Safe and happy times to my many past students. So this is a final good bye to my Art Club. I have so enjoyed sharing my love for the Arts with my students. It has been a great journey. I have loved every minute of the Art Club. What a great joy working with students that loved Art. I hope every student goes on to use what we have done together. Remember what I have always told you. "Build each other up, respect yourself and others and do your very best in everything you do. Have a great life and remember to follow your dreams like I have done.

Art Club raised $3000 and we were able to feed 60 families this Thanksgiving. We appreciate everyone who bought a pumpkin. We had a great time painting all the pumpkins and going to purchase the food for the baskets. We couldn't have done it without your support!

The new pumpkins have been ordered and will arrive at the end on this month. We are excited and using a new white pumpkin that should last along time. we still have some from last year that are still perfect. So keep an eye out on all the new and improved painted pumpkins the Art club will be selling.

The students have Art work on display in the Southeastern Illinois College Art gallery. Please stop in and see all the great work from five other schools. Bailey Newman andKeeeley Tate both have won awards this year. Great work and special thanks to Sarah DeNeal for hosting this event.

Was very proud of the Art club raising the money and using it for community service for our school. They are purchasing gifts for nearby students for christmas. Thanks again for all the support to the club. Special thanks to Ralph and Pat Coffey and Tates Blue Flame for donations to the club. We hope everyone has a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
