Kids Matter Network- Mustang Closet

This is the community outreach page for the Eldon School District's resource closet, Mustang Closet.

The Mustang Closet holds clothing, shoes, outerwear, adult sized formal wear, and basic hygiene and school supplies for students in need. Students who come to school without their basic hygiene needs satisfied face obstacles to learning, lack confidence, and may be excluded from peer groups. The Mustang Closet seeks to meet the students' needs so they can be successful at school and in life.

Wow! Huge transformation! We've been blessed with plenty of donations for the fall. The folks from Serve Eldon worked tirelessly the last two days to get things neat and organized for the new season. We can't thank them enough for their service!

Oh no! 😯 The closet at the Middle School is getting empty!
🔸Middle School is seeking new or gently used sneakers, shorts, leggings and t-shirts and new packages of socks all in adult sizes.
If you're able to donate to meet any of these needs, please bring your donations to the C building of Eldon High School. Call 573-392-8060 ext 1541 with questions.

Mustang Closet is in need of new or gently used men's sized tennis shoes. Any adult sizes would be appreciated.

Donations may be dropped off at the C Building of the Eldon High School Campus. Please use the door that faces second street.

We are happy to announce that the Mustang Closet is once again accepting donations! We would like to give a BIG thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard to get the closet ready for the new year.

All donations may be taken to the second floor of the C Building at the Eldon High School campus. Please use the door that faces Second Street.

Mustang Closet will not be accepting new donations at this time.

We have truly been overwhelmed (both emotionally and physically) by the outpouring of generosity of the Eldon community. Our volunteers need some time to sort through everything we have recently received. We appreciate your patience.

Today, PAVE AmeriCorps held their annual Show Me Service event. As part of the event, they helped to sort donations at the Mustang Closet! 'Tis the season of giving! Thank you, AmeriCorps Members!

Our Story

Students who come to school without their basic hygiene needs satisfied face obstacles to learning, lack confidence, and may be excluded from peer groups. The Mustang Closet seeks to meet the students' needs so they can be successful at school and in life.

The Mustang Closet is run by dedicated volunteers who process, clean, and distribute donations to each of the district’s 4 campuses so students have appropriate sizes readily available.

TO DONATE: Please follow our page and watch for updates for needed items. To keep our closets manageable, we accept donations for most items only as we need them. However, we will always accept donations of new socks and new underwear.
