Proactively focusing on your health through diet and exercise is a powerful way to help prevent chronic disease. Starting small is key: You can pick one area and make a tiny change, like swapping one sugary drink for water each day or adding a 10-minute walk to your daily routine. These small, consistent actions build strength and resilience, reframing your health as a proactive choice. www.MensHealthMonth.org

📢 Office Closure Notice – Juneteenth

In observance of Juneteenth, Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence (NEGACDV) will be closed on Friday, June 19th.

Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of freedom, equality, resilience, and the continued pursuit of justice for all.

At NEGACDV, we believe in creating safe, supportive communities where every individual is treated with dignity and respect. As we observe Juneteenth, we encourage everyone to take time to reflect on our shared history, celebrate progress, and honor those whose strength and perseverance helped shape a better future.

Our offices will reopen during normal business hours on Monday, June 22nd.

If you are experiencing a domestic violence crisis and need immediate assistance, our 24-hour crisis hotline remains available at 706-376-7111.

❤️ Wishing our community a meaningful Juneteenth as we celebrate freedom, reflect on history, and continue working toward a more just and equitable future.
