The Friends of Bobby Brown Park will meet tonight at 6:30 in the Danny Gurtherie building. Anyone who wishes to have input on the future direction of the group is urged to attend.

Again we apologize for not being able to successfully do the fireworks show yesterday evening. It was just too wet to get it done. In fact due to lightning we suspended activities a little earlier than the time we normally would have done the fireworks, in consideration of the safety of all the campers and guests, and park staff. We appreciate everyone coming out and enjoying good food and good times with Bennie Bee spinning tunes. Thanks to all who bought tickets on the raffle, Joey Roberts was the winner, and thanks to Elberton Sport and Pawn for their assistance. The fireworks are there and will be available for a future show, to be determined. Hope everyone has a great holiday! jc

Evacuation has been lifted for the areas of Russell Dam Drive, Bobby Brown Road, Brad Dixon Road, and Ernest Brown Road. Fire is under control. Thank you.

In the area of Russell Dam Dr. Evacuation has been requested due to a tanker truck on fire on Russell Dam Dr. This area is a 1 mile radius stretching from Earnest Brown Road to Brad Dixon Rd. If you receive this CodeRED message please evacuate until further notice. Bobby Brown Road is closed in this area.
