💜🪨 Recovery is rock solid in Elberton! 🪨💜

🚌 The 2026 Georgia Recovers in Communities Bus Tour is headed to the Granite Capital of the World for an evening celebrating recovery, connection, and the strength of rural Georgia!

We’re grateful to partner with Tlayra Sims and Life in Recovery to bring this celebration together. Across rural Georgia, recovery communities are proving that hope doesn’t depend on the size of your town. It grows when neighbors support neighbors, people share their stories, and communities make sure no one has to walk the road to recovery alone.

We’re looking forward to spending the evening with our friends in Elbert County, celebrating the people doing this work every day and reminding everyone that recovery provides a rock-solid foundation to build a life on. 🪨💜

In Elberton and Elbert County, support can look like family counseling, educational workshops, Mother to Mother groups, and peer mentors who have walked this road themselves.

LIFE IN RECOVERY INC uses a peer-led approach to meet rural barriers like isolation, transportation, and stigma, helping families strengthen communication, stay connected to recovery, and rebuild support close to home.

Housing and a ride to treatment can be the difference between starting over and staying stuck.

In rural communities, those two basics are often the hardest to secure. Your donation helps LIFE IN RECOVERY INC expand housing capacity and strengthen transportation services so more people can get to recovery meetings, medical appointments, and job interviews.

If you’re able to give, your support goes directly toward the practical services that help recovery hold.

This Thanksgiving held a unique significance for multiple reasons. Within the last two weeks Mother to Mother Recovery Centerr welcomed new residents who all desired to spend Thanksgiving with Mrs. T. However, Mrs. T would not be in town. Nevertheless, I made a concerted effort to participate. Consequently, Life in Recovery organized a community Thanksgiving celebration. We extended invitations to our surrounding community supporters, Mother to Mother Recovery Center, and our alumni. As I observed the profound impact Life in Recovery & Mother to Mother have had on numerous lives, I was overcome with emotions of gratitude, humility, and thanksgiving. I expressed my gratitude to God through prayer, blessing the food and witnessing each lady enjoy themselves with my signature collard green jumbo and various other dishes.
