Serving Our Community — One Bag at a Time!

Today, members of VFW Post 5456 and Auxiliary 5456 rolled up their sleeves for our latest Adopt-a-Road Cleanup in support of the Keep Elbert County Beautiful campaign.

Together, 7 Post members and 4 Auxiliary members collected:

🗑️ 15 bags of trash
💪 125 pounds of litter removed from our community

Community service is an important part of our mission, and we’re proud to do our part to help keep Elbert County clean and beautiful.

🇺🇸 **9/11 Remembrance Day & POW/MIA Ceremony** 🇺🇸

Today, we gathered to remember and honor those we lost on September 11, 2001, and to recognize the brave men and women who have served our country — especially those who never made it home.

A heartfelt thank you to the Elks for providing meals for all of our veterans, and to the Auxiliary for serving and caring for everyone who attended. Your generosity and dedication mean so much to our veterans and our community.

We are also incredibly proud of the ECCHS JROTC for performing such a meaningful and respectful Missing Man ceremony. Your discipline, honor, and commitment truly showed.

And thank you to JD Collie for delivering such a heartfelt and moving speech. Your words reminded us of the sacrifices made by so many and why it is so important that we continue to remember.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget!

🇺🇸 A Great Day of Service, Fellowship & Fun at VFW Post 5456! 🇺🇸
Today was a special day at VFW Post 5456 in Elberton as we celebrated the opening of our new Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Center!

We were honored to start the day by serving breakfast to the troops of HHB 1/214th FA. Last evening we invited them over to enjoy the new MWR Center and spend some time relaxing, having fun, and building fellowship with our VFW family.

The evening was filled with pickleball, co****le, games, good food, and a cookout! 🎉🥎🌭🇺🇸

Our MWR Center is about more than just a building. It’s a place where our service members can come together, unwind, enjoy some friendly competition, and know that their community supports them.

A huge THANK YOU to the men and women of HHB 1/214th FA for their service and sacrifice. It was our privilege to serve you breakfast and then spend the evening enjoying some fellowship together.

We’re proud to have this new space at VFW Post 5456 and look forward to many more days of serving, supporting, and bringing our veterans, troops, families, and community together.

This morning, we had the honor of serving breakfast to our adopted unit, HHB 1/214 FA

It was a great opportunity to spend some time with these outstanding Soldiers, share a meal, and show our appreciation for everything they do. We’re proud to support HHB 1/214 FA and grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside them.

Thank you for your service, dedication, and sacrifice. We’re honored to call you our adopted unit!

If you are friends with me, you should be aware of my love for Veterans so I am bringing it up. I am fairly confident that I already know two individuals who will assist, but I am hopeful that I will receive more responses, as this is a pressing concern.
Twenty-two Veterans succumb to their struggles daily. May I request that two friends or family members copy and repost this message?
