Helping Overcome Poverty in Elbert County An interdenominational ministry working with churches & social agencies to serve Elbert County, GA

HOPE (Helping Overcome Poverty in Elbert County) envisions a collaboration of Elbert Country churches and social agencies through which the cycle of poverty within our community is broken, and everyone has the tools to become self-sufficient. Our mission is to connect people in need with churches and social agencies that will provide the appropriate help, support, and education that will not only meet the present need but will enable them to address the root causes of their personal, social, and economic challenges.

HOPE is extremely grateful to receive a grant from Hart EMC in the amount of $4,000. It is gratifying that they recognize the need for funding in order to assist those most in need. The most prevalent issues that HOPE deals with are keeping lights on for folks, getting power turned on, and helping with rent. The need is great and we can only help if the money is there. Churches in our area help with monthly donations but donations from individuals is greatly appreciated so that we can serve as many as financially possible. The HOPE Board of Directors accepts, with deepest gratitude, a grant issued by the city of Elberton, in the amount of $7500. HOPE relies on donations from local churches, individuals, local organizations and grants such as this, to assist residents of Elbert County, most predominantly, with power bills and rent. So a great big Thank You for helping HOPE continue to overcome poverty in Elberton county.
