🚨 EVENT CANCELED — TEXAS NIGHT OUT 🚨

We regret to announce that the Vista Del Norte Estates Texas Night Out, scheduled for tomorrow, October 6, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Rio Rimac Park, has been canceled.

Unfortunately, community participation for the event has been lower than we had hoped. Additionally, although our neighborhood was initially contacted by EPPD about hosting a Texas Night Out event, we have been unable to confirm their participation despite multiple follow-up attempts.

With the event only a day away, we do not feel it would be appropriate to ask the public safety agencies and community partners who graciously committed their time and resources to attend an event without sufficient community participation.

We sincerely appreciate EPFD Recruitment and the other agencies and organizations that responded to our outreach and offered to support our Northeast El Paso community. We are incredibly grateful for their willingness to participate.

And a special thank you to the neighbors who expressed interest, offered to participate, or planned to bring a dish. ❤️ We truly appreciate your support and enthusiasm.

We hope to organize future events when we can provide our participating agencies and community partners with the turnout and engagement their time deserves.

📢 Please help us spread the word that tomorrow’s event has been CANCELED so that no one makes an unnecessary trip to Rio Rimac Park.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our neighborhood.

Yesterday, a formal email was sent to El Paso Water and city leadership regarding the recent water outages and water quality concerns affecting our neighborhood. The email contained a detailed timeline and reports gathered from residents.
El Paso Water has responded and requested a meeting with neighborhood representatives and affected residents. Once the date, time, and location are confirmed, the details will be shared by email and on our social media pages.
Please continue documenting and reporting any outages, low pressure, cloudy or discolored water, or other concerns. Thank you to everyone who helped provide information and advocate for our neighborhood.

EPWater crews will be working in the Futureland/Vista Del Norte neighborhood for the next two hours, making adjustments to water pressure in the area. This may cause temporary low water pressure or water outages. If water appears to be discolored or cloudy, customers are encouraged to run their water on cold from a faucet furthest from the home's main line to restore pressure and remove sediments.

There are two water tankers available for customers in the following locations:
- Park near Polo Norte Drive and Norte Valley Lane
- North Skies Park near Copper Town Drive and Copper Hill Place

Vista del Norte/Futureland Water Outage — I am formally documenting this incident- Jessica Burnett, Vice President of VDNENA

Yesterday at approximately 12:30 PM, our water pressure dropped to essentially a trickle. I reported it to El Paso Water around 1:30 PM and encouraged neighbors experiencing the same problem to report it as well because there was still no outage reflected on EPWater's map.

By approximately 4:30 PM, after another complaint, Dispatch advised me that a crew was only then en route to investigate and that there was no ETA.

At 6:34 PM, after I followed up again, Dispatch advised that a crew was onsite, there was still no ETA, and that water tankers would be made available at Carlos Ramirez & Viento Norte. The outage map eventually identified a main break at that location as Medium severity, affecting 50–499 customers.

Water finally returned just before 9 PM.

Unfortunately, this isn't over.

At approximately 2 AM this morning, our water pressure dropped back to a trickle.

I filed another report around 3:30 AM, and as of approximately 5 AM, we again have no water.

I'm keeping a formal timeline of this incident, including reports, correspondence, outage-map changes and restoration failures. If you are in Vista del Norte/Futureland and experienced low pressure or complete loss of water, please comment with your street/general area, approximately what time you lost pressure/water, when it returned, and whether you have water right now.
I'm especially concerned not only about the failure itself, but the lack of proactive communication with affected residents. Yesterday many neighbors were relying on Facebook, Ring and Nextdoor to figure out what was happening. The information I received about crews, the lack of an ETA and the tanker location came only after I repeatedly contacted EPWater.
Our community deserves an explanation of what failed, why service failed again only hours after restoration, whether the repair was temporary, and what is being done to prevent another recurrence.
This also deserves serious consideration as our city discusses the capacity of Northeast El Paso's infrastructure to support significantly greater future utility demands. Before residents are asked to trust that our infrastructure can support massive new development, we need confidence that it can reliably serve the families who are already here.
