Happy National Custodian Appreciation Day!

Today, we want to recognize and thank our three AMAZING custodians: Ernesto, Guadalupe, and Ramiro!

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and everything you do to keep our department running smoothly. Your efforts make a difference every single day, not only for our department, FNS Central, but also for the students we serve.

We truly appreciate all that you do! You are an important part of our FNS family!

💛 On Friday, our Food & Nutrition Services staff wore yellow in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Across our kitchens, our Lunch Heroes came together to show support for children and families affected by childhood cancer. To every child facing cancer: we are cheering you on. 🎗️

🍜 Our middle and high school students got to try our new Smoked Pork Tonkotsu Ramen, and it was a hit! From the savory broth to the smoky pork and fresh toppings, this lunch brought something exciting to the table.

A big thank you to our Lunch Heroes for all the work they put into preparing and serving it! 💛

Your Voice. Your Lunch.

We were excited to join the Superintendent Student Advisory Council (Super SAC) at Irvin High School! Students from high schools across EPISD had the opportunity to try our El Chuco Bowl, many for the first time, and share their feedback through a QR code survey.

We heard the good, the not-so-good, and great ideas for improvement, and we’re listening! We believe in transparency, so we’re sharing the results with you.

Food & Nutrition Services will continue providing meals at Super SAC meetings and use student feedback as we begin our Meal Planning Committee process.

Student voices matter, especially when it comes to their lunch!

Around the World on a School Lunch Tray!
Our theme this year is Around the World on a School Lunch Tray, and our first stop was Mexico! We grabbed our passports, picked up our boarding passes, and celebrated September 16th, Mexican Independence Day, in style!

Through food, culture, and a little fun, our students are getting a taste of the world without ever leaving the cafeteria!
Next stop... where will our school lunch tray take us?

Did you know we have our very own IT team?
That’s right! Our Food & Nutrition Services department is so large that we have a dedicated IT team keeping us connected, supported, and running smoothly behind the scenes. Two days ago was IT Professionals Day, and we couldn’t let it pass without recognizing Raul, Stuart, and Daniel for everything they do for our department! From troubleshooting tech issues to keeping our systems up and running, we appreciate all the work you do. 💙

Thank you for keeping FNS connected!
