Playback to when our Brand & Content Strategist, Valerie Chavez, served as a judge at BorderHack ’26, hosted by the UTEP Google Developer Group and sponsored by Drop Dev.
Alongside a panel of industry leaders, including Eva Deemer from Advanced Technology Applications Group, Jacob Croft from UTEP - The University of Texas at El Paso, Miguel Amaya from Tech Frontier, and Rajasoundarya Senthilprabhu from FundMiner.
Valerie played a key role in evaluating innovative solutions developed by more than 70 participants addressing real-world challenges within just 24 hours. Drawing on her background in marketing and business, she assessed projects through the lens of customer experience, user interface, and adoption potential. Across tracks ranging from Community Impact to Computer Vision and AI Red-Teaming, students showcased the talent, creativity, and problem-solving that are shaping our region’s future.
Events like BorderHack help make Borderplex talent visible, and we're proud to have Valerie representing the Hub.
The Microsoft El Paso Innovation Hub is a project of the El Paso Community Foundation supported by Microsoft.
