The BOOST Network

The goal of the BOOST Network is to increase the quality and knowledge of Out-of-School Time (OST)

The Borderland Out of School Time Network began in 2015 as an effort to coordinate and support collaboration and communication among out of school time program providers and community stakeholders in the Paso del Norte region. The BOOST Network represents stakeholders and organizations from West Texas, Southern New Mexico, and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua and is the only bi-national, tri-state out of school time network to exist.

Paso del Norte Health Foundation Funding Opportunity for the Healthy Kids Initiative Now Open!

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation has announced a new funding opportunity for the Healthy Kids Initiative.

Funding is available for organizations providing out-of-school programs for disconnected youth, as well as those advancing the initiative through research on policies and practices that support outdoor activity and youth-directed play.

Eligible organizations working to improve outcomes for children and teens ages 5–17 in these focus areas are encouraged to apply.

The community is invited to a special Storytime: Blue Bear & The Loose Thread! 🧸🐰

Families are invited to join local author Cassius Casillas for the first-ever reading of this delightful new story on Saturday, August 22, from 11:00 am –2:00 pm at the Mexican American Cultural Center, 201 W. Franklin Ave.

Follow Blue Bear as he sets out to help his friends, only to discover that a loose thread may bring an unexpected adventure! 🧵💙

This special first reading is a wonderful opportunity for children and families to experience a new local story, meet the characters, and celebrate the creativity of a local El Paso writer. Bring the family and be part of this exciting first chapter! 📖✨

The YMCA Turkey Trot is back!

The YMCA of El Paso invites the community to be part of a Thanksgiving tradition celebrating 50 years! on Thursday, November 26, 2026.

Participants can choose from a 5K Run or 1-Mile Fun Run, with sleep or swim options also available.

El Paso Public Library invites the community to save the date for LibraryCon, happening September 26 from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM at the Main Library!

Families, children, and community members are encouraged to mark their calendars and get ready for a fun-filled day with exciting activities and experiences for all ages.

Las Cruces Site Visits 🌿☀️

We had the opportunity to visit some of the Healthy Kids grantees in Las Cruces to hear about the amazing work happening in the community!

Shoutout to Nature Friends LC , Friends of the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks, and Kids Can_YEP for sharing highlights from their of their OST program activities, experiences, and memories they created for children and youth.

We also had the chance to visit our BOOST member Cruces Creatives, touring their facilities, meeting their team, and learning more about the work they are doing in the community.

We are excited to continue building these connections and learning more about the incredible programs available to local youth!
