“These things have been renewed in us, as gifts, from the desert.”

After more than five years of faithful vocation at Abara, our teammate Nate Ledbetter and his family will be moving on to a new chapter in the community of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. We will deeply miss them, and we are deeply grateful. Nate has been integral to laying the foundation for Abara since the summer of ‘21.

Clara sat down to interview Nate during his last week with Abara.

We wanted to find out: What has El Paso/Juárez meant to you and your family? Why do you believe God led you here, and what did you find? Read Nate’s answers at the link in our stories.

Every month we release a story - about migration, about history, about an idea, an experience, a family, or a person. The writers are our staff, our friends, and former border encounter participants. Enjoy July’s Border Story - by Cristhel Mejía 🌞 (link in stories and bio)

A haircut can do more than change someone's appearance—it can open the door to a new beginning. 💈✨ We're proud to see the impact of our Huellas program, equipping people on the move with practical skills, confidence, and hope for the future.

Last month, three of our teammates visited old and new partners along migrant pathways in Central America and Southern Mexico. Rosa wrote about this deeply beautiful experience our most recent Border Story, “Siempre con Amor.”💙
