Saludos from El Paso, Texas! I am reaching out to let you know that the Border Fellows Program is still accepting applications for 2017-2018! I wanted to invite you to spread the word to any college seniors or young adults you may know who are interested in community development, immigration and the US-Mexico border.
In brief, the Border Fellows program is a ten month work and service leadership development program on the U.S.-Mexico border. The program challenges recent college graduates to integrate their faith in Jesus, vocation, gifts and relationships with God's heart for service, justice and reconciliation. Border Fellows work part time in a vocational field of their interest, participate in a community development internship with Ciudad Nueva, take two seminar-style graduate courses on the theology and practice of justice and reconciliation, and live in community with other fellows and the Church of St. Clement. Due to our geographic location and our focus on community development, we work with many immigrant families and youth in El Paso's central Rio Grande Neighborhood.
This program is a great opportunity for those looking to get experience with: Christian community development, immigration, cross-culture and cross-class dynamics, urban ministry, non-profit management, Spanish language, or student ministry.
We are currently accepting applications for young adults or interested students who are graduating in 2017. We would appreciate any referrals you may have! Please feel free to also pass along the information to anyone you know. I've attached our overview as well as the 2017-2018 application and info on the neighborhood we work in. You can also visit our Border Fellows website for more detailed information. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you in advance for your support!
