We want to hear from your kids or students! The El Paso Community Foundation is partnering with the City of El Paso to make our city more youth-centric. We are working toward the UNICEF designation “Child Friendly City.” This starts with meaningful youth input to determine what we can do to make El Paso a great city for them.

Our ask is that you share this QR code or link: https://tinyurl.com/hx9h37hp (Link in Bio) with your students and encourage them to use their voice. NO personal information will be collected; all responses are anonymous.

We know you are committed to the youth in our community and will be great partners in helping our city, county and region serve them more thoughtfully.

Kessto Kreatures — they of the life-sized puppets — close out the 10th season of the Jewel Box Series at the Philanthropy Theatre with performances of their new show, "An Anansi Experience," at 2:30 and 7 pm Sunday, May 17.

It's based on a mysterious storyteller figure from West African culture, which also was a symbol of slave resistance. The show, which was written and directed by El Paso's Anthony Michael Stokes, debuted in Chicago. The tagline for the show is: "We must love hard. We must hate less."

Tickets are $15 at the Plaza Theatre Box Office and Ticketmaster.

A heartfelt thank‑you to the Texas Bar Foundation for awarding the Philosophic Systems Institute $10,000 to support Shadows to Light, our philosophic learning space integrated into Judge Selena Solis’s INSPIRE Mental Health Treatment Court. Mental‑health treatment courts face a unique challenge: participants often need more than clinical care. They need a place to reflect, to make sense of their experiences, and to begin shifting the internal narratives that shape their choices.

Shadows to Light brings a humanities‑based, meaning‑centered approach that helps participants deepen reflection, strengthen critical thinking, and rebuild a sense of purpose and possibility. This funding directly supports that work within INSPIRE.
