Thanks to a grant from Miranda Lambert's MuttNation, a $10,000 donation match from Borderland Rescue Fund and Trev's Ranch, and generous donations from our community, 450 community pets are now spayed and neutered!

Last year, we hosted our community's first-ever Spay-A-Thon, bringing a veterinary team specializing in mega spay-and-neuter events like these to El Paso. Thanks to their awesome team, El Paso Animal Services staff and volunteers, over 430 pets were spayed and neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped in just 3 days. ⁠

We are so excited to bring this awesome team back to our community again this year for our Spring 2026 Spay-A-Thon! If you or someone you know needs to get their pet spayed or neutered, registration is now open for this event happening March 13th through March 15th. 🚨 Our Spring 2026 Spay-a-Thon Registration is now OPEN! 🚨

Join us March 13th-15th as we provide over 350 FREE spay/neuter surgeries for owned pets in the El Paso community! Each pet will also receive age-appropriate vaccines & a microchip at no cost. This is our second-annual event and we are excited to make this possible thanks to our supporters El Paso Community Foundation, Borderland Rescue Fund, Trev's Ranch, El Paso Animal Services, and donors like you!

🐾 Why it matters: Pet overpopulation is a major issue in our region—over 25,000 pets entered local shelters last year. This event alone can prevent the birth of 2,000+ animals!

💙 How you can help: We need to raise $35,000 to fund these lifesaving surgeries. Sponsor a pet's surgery for just $100 and help reduce overpopulation in our community!

📲 Register your pet or donate today! Appointments are limited and registration will be closed once slots are full. $25 donation deposit required to schedule your appointment (which can be refunded after your pet's surgery or be donated back to spay/neuter programming).

With incoming cold weather, we are asking for any new or gently used blanket or towels!

If you've found any of these items that you're no longer using, our shelter pets would love to have them! 🥰Blankets and towels are placed in cat and dog kennels throughout our shelter, and provide comfort and warmth for shelter pets during cold weather.

Stop by any of our locations during business hours to drop off your donations!

We want to send a huge thank you to everyone who has to our shelter so far! We are incredibly grateful to the community members who have stepped up for shelter pets — from blankets and toys to food and so much more.
Every donated item goes directly toward helping pets stay warm and comfortable in our shelter, and some are even shared back with community members and pets in need.
 
But we’re not done yet! We are still accepting blankets and dog food, and every donation makes a meaningful difference. If you’re looking for a way to give this holiday season, donations are welcome at all of our locations.

Huge Thank You to the Texas Nursing Student Association at UTEP!
This holiday season, the incredible students of the Texas Nursing Student Association at UTEP delivered a wave of kindness to the pets of El Paso Animal Services. Their donation drive brought in towels, blankets, pet food, and training pads. These items are essentials that help comfort our pets and keep daily care running smoothing.
 
We're deeply grateful for your compassion, teamwork, and commitment to serving our community in so many ways. Your generosity brings warmth and hope to pets spending the holidays in our care.

If you’ve got any large blankets at home — even the worn, well-loved ones — the shelter pups would love to curl up in them while they wait to get adopted. We’re also running low on dog & puppy dry food for our Pet Pantry Program, which supports families who need a little extra help keeping their pets fed. Opened bags are welcome!
