58 Years in the Making: A Wrong Righted for Vietnam Veteran Jose Magdaleno.
Fifty-eight years ago, U.S. Army veteran Jose Magdaleno sacrificed for our country on the battlefields of Vietnam. He earned a debt of gratitude that should have been paid long ago. Yesterday, that debt was finally honored.
The Military Order of the Purple Heart Lone Star Chapter was deeply privileged to host an official award ceremony to present Mr. Magdaleno with his long-overdue Purple Heart Medal.
It takes a village to honor our heroes, and this historic moment wouldn't have been possible without an incredible network of partners dedicated to making things right. A massive thank you to:
The Warrior’s Journey & Endeavors Health and Wellness Center, GECU, Grand Canyon University, and the Benavides-Patterson All-Airborne Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Association.
Thank you to the local Community whose overwhelming support reminded us all that a soldier's sacrifice is never forgotten, no matter how much time has passed.
The presentation of the Purple Heart is a solemn reminder of the price of freedom. For Jose Magdaleno, this recognition is 58 years late, but its power is undiminished.
Please join us in thanking Jose Magdaleno for his bravery, his resilience, and his service. Welcome home, sir. Congratulations.
