ForWord is one of the community projects offered by the non-profit literary organization, BorderSenses (est.2000) that strives to connect, inspire, and evolve ideas about writing for authors ages 13-19. ForWord Project was developed with the idea of improving awareness of the written word in its various forms for the youth of the border region. The project not only exposes youth to the written for

ms but helps improve writing and confidence of young writers by utilizing a workshop environment in a beneficial manner. Young writers learn how a workshop environment can improve their own writing through feedback, utilizing fellow writers to illustrate and learn techniques, all while exposing them to the benefits of technology such as tele-workshops. Participants have metrics such as portfolios and are also provided with opportunities for publication. Through these opportunities ForWord Project hopes to create an environment where young writers can cultivate their interests in arts and move forward with their education. Writing workshops will be available at various locations in the city at various times throughout the year.
