Ric began his coaching career in August 2019 with the European Football Academy of Okinawa (EFAO), where he led U8 and U10 teams while assisting with U12–U15 squads. During his time in Japan, his teams competed in tournaments throughout Okinawa and mainland Japan, giving players meaningful exposure to competitive football environments across the country.
A major highlight of his international coaching experience was leading U11 and U12 teams at the prestigious Donosti Cup in San Sebastián, Spain—one of the largest and most respected youth football tournaments in the world. Competing on an international stage further reinforced his commitment to high-level development and global football culture.
In March 2022, Ric earned his EFAO Methodology Certificate, formalizing his training in the academy’s player development philosophy built around “50% Soccer and 50% Values.” This methodology emphasizes technical and tactical excellence while intentionally developing discipline, respect, teamwork, and confidence.
Continuing his professional growth in the United States, Ric obtained his U.S. Soccer Federation D Coaching License in April 2024 and advanced to earn his U.S. Soccer Federation C Coaching License in May 2025 through the United States Soccer Federation, demonstrating his commitment to the highest standards of coaching education and player development.
In August 2023, Ric returned to El Paso and founded the European Football Academy of West Texas. Since its establishment, the academy has competed in leagues and tournaments throughout El Paso while also traveling to major events in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Dallas, Carlsbad, and Las Cruces—providing players with competitive opportunities that challenge them both athletically and personally.
For Ric, coaching is more than training sessions and match results—it is about shaping character. His mission is to create an environment where young athletes feel challenged, supported, and inspired. He believes that soccer is a powerful vehicle for teaching life lessons, and he remains committed to developing players who demonstrate discipline in their preparation, respect in their actions, teamwork in their approach, and confidence in who they are—both on and off the field. His ultimate goal is to leave a lasting impact that extends far beyond the game.
