Her boundless love for others and her philanthropic spirit led to the creation of the Imagination Library, a program that gifted over 300 million books to children around the world.

Desde PFLAG El Paso queremos expresar nuestra profunda solidaridad y cariño a nuestrxs amigxs de Colombia, especialmente a todas las personas y familias que han sido afectadas por el terremoto ocurrido este lunes.

En PFLAG El Paso reconocemos la importancia de acompañarnos en los momentos difíciles. Nuestra hermandad con Colombia nace de esos vínculos que trascienden fronteras y nos recuerdan que cuando una de nuestras comunidades sufre, todas sentimos el llamado a estar presentes.

Enviamos un abrazo solidario a las familias que enfrentan momentos de incertidumbre, a quienes han perdido sus hogares o pertenencias y, especialmente, a quienes hoy necesitan apoyo y esperanza.

As a community, we grieve together, stand together, and remind one another that no one should have to face fear or hate alone. Tragedies like this do not only affect one city or one country, they touch our entire family.
In moments like these, our greatest strength is our unity. We continue to choose love over hate, hope over fear, and community over isolation. We honor those affected by standing together, caring for one another, and ensuring that every LGBTQ+ person knows they are seen, valued, and never alone.

As a new ally, it’s your worst nightmare: Something you said or did hurt your LGBTQ+ loved one—and you genuinely didn’t mean to! Maybe you intended to say something nice and have no idea why it impacted them in that way.

➡️ Instead of getting defensive, try:
• Acknowledging (rather than minimizing) the impact.
• Remembering that a gentle correction is not a personal attack, but an opportunity for you to learn how to do better.
• Apologizing in a way that takes responsibility for the hurt that you caused.
